Mahama Engages Upper East Chiefs and Religious Leaders

Former President John Dramani Mahama, National Democratic Congress flagbearer

On the second day of his #Mahama4Change2024 campaign in the Upper East Region, former President John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer for the 2024 general elections, engaged in a significant interaction with local leaders and community members in the Zebilla constituency.

The event was marked by the presence of chiefs, queen mothers, and Christian and Muslim leaders, reflecting a broad spectrum of the region’s leadership.

During the interaction, the National Democratic Congress flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama emphasized the critical role of unity and inclusive development in nation-building.

He reiterated that governments must be intentional in fostering a united country and ensuring that development projects are comprehensive and directly beneficial to the people.

This commitment to holistic development, he noted, is a cornerstone of his campaign and the NDC’s broader agenda.

“I reassured the people of my commitment and that of the NDC to continue working together to reset our country”, Mr Mahama stated.

He highlighted the significant achievements of previous NDC administrations, underscoring his extensive personal experience in governance as a vital asset in creating a brighter future for all Ghanaians.

Mahama’s Track Record

The National Democratic Congress flagbearer and leader pointed out that his administration is remembered for various developmental projects, including infrastructure improvements and social interventions aimed at reducing poverty and improving living standards.

Mr Mahama also stressed the importance of the unity and input of traditional leaders, religious leaders, and community members in the effective implementation of policies and initiatives.

He believes that their involvement is crucial in addressing the specific needs of the people and ensuring that development efforts are relevant and impactful.

“As we strive towards a more inclusive and prosperous Ghana, the contributions and insights of our leaders and community members are invaluable,” Mahama said.

He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to engage with the people of Zebilla, noting that these interactions are essential in understanding their concerns and aspirations.

Mr Mahama further indicated that his engagement in the Upper East Region is part of a broader strategy to connect with Ghanaians across the country, gathering support and building momentum for his campaign ahead of the December 7 elections.

He stated that his focus on dialogue and community involvement underscores his belief in a participatory approach to governance, where the voices of all citizens are heard and considered.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to engage with the people on my rounds and look forward to continuing our dialogue as we work towards building the Ghana we want together,” Mahama remarked.

He called for continued support, expressing confidence that, together, Ghanaians can bring about the change the country deserves.

In another different engagement within the same region, the 2024 Presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama expressed optimism in the opposition party’s chances of winning the December 7 elections.

Mr Mahama disclosed that some New Patriotic Party (NPP) members are privately anticipating his victory in the December 7 general elections.

This, according to him, is because they believe the defeat of the governing NPP will facilitate the governing party’s reorganization.

The former President explained that many in the NPP believe that power is being controlled by a selected few, hence the need for them to go back to the opposition.

The #Mahama4Change2024 campaign is poised to address various national issues, with a focus on economic revitalization, social justice, comprehensive governance, institutional and constitutional reforms, the fight against corruption, and equitable development.
