Peter Okoye Breaks Silence On EFCC Controversy, Denies Reporting Brother

Peter and Paul Okoye

Peter Okoye, one-half of the popular music duo P-Square, has spoken out about claims made by his brother, Paul.

In a lengthy statement released on Social Media, he addressed the recent controversy surrounding his brother Paul Okoye’s accusation that he reported him to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

This is coming following allegations made by his twin brother, Paul Okoye, during a recent interview that he was arrested by the EFCC last December, which Peter allegedly orchestrated.

Peter denied reporting Paul to the EFCC, explaining that he had discovered a secret company, Northside Music, founded by their brother Jude Okoye and his wife, which was diverting millions of dollars and hundreds of millions of Naira from their management company, Northside Entertainment.

“It’s always surprising to me when people say, ‘P-SQUARE is always bringing their family matters into the public eye’. Let me clarify this. P-SQUARE is not just a family – it’s a public brand, Peter, Paul, Jude, Anita, Ifeoma, Lola, and the rest of our family members are FAMILY, but P-SQUARE is an entity that belongs to the public as much as it does belong to us.

“Our fans have played a significant role in our success, so they have the right to know what’s happening with their beloved brand P-SQUARE. That’s why it’s understandable when certain aspects of our lives are shared publicly.”

He further claimed that he approached Paul multiple times about the issue, but Paul denied knowing anything about it. Peter then took the matter to the EFCC, which led to Jude’s detention and eventual release on bail.

“I understand that Paul is angry because I took this matter to the EFCC, and I understand why. However, bearing in mind that I have met Paul and Jude separately and tried to discuss this matter and it yielded me with no positive answer, in fact, the last time I approached Paul the conversation got heated up and he said, and I quote, ‘Peter, go and do your worst’ at this stage I was left with no other choice but to report to the authorities and take legal actions.”

Peter also challenged Paul to produce any petition that he submitted against him, stating that his legal team was instructed to focus solely on Jude and his wife, the directors of the secret company.

The EFCC investigation found that Northside Music had been secretly collecting P-Square’s royalties, which were then transferred to Jude’s account and split equally with Paul.

Peter concluded by stating that he will release the EFCC’s final report, receipts, and other documents related to the secret company once he receives them from his legal team.

Lola Omotayo Okoye, wife of Peter Okoye from P-Square took to social media to react as her husband fights with his twin brother online.

According to her, she has found peace.

Speaking in an Instagram post, she expressed gratitude to God for giving her strength and resilience to continue seeking peace.

“Even as challenges arise and negativity surrounds us, give thanks to God for strength and resilience. His grace is our shield, and as this world never stops moving, find peace in the pause to always give thanks. Grateful for every blessing, big or small.”

Anita Okoye, the ex-wife of Nigerian singer and the second half of famous music group P-Square, Paul Okoye, also shared a cryptic post amid P-Square’s fallout.

Taking to her Instagram story, the mother of three shared a clip of someone laughing as she stated that this is how she feels when people get mad.

“When they mad cause they can’t figure out how you’re still being blessed after they’ve created fake narratives, lied and slandered your name,” Anita Okoye wrote.

It is no longer news that the famous twins have fallen out again. Addressing the fallout in an open letter to his twin, Peter told him he was not in any competition with him or anybody else.
