Bawumia’s Spokesperson Touts NPP Achievements, Urges Ghanaians to Vote for NPP

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, is set to hold a crucial media engagement on Sunday, August 25, 2024.

This significant event comes on the heels of the successful launch of the NPP’s 2024 Manifesto.

According to Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Director of Communications for the Bawumia 2024 Campaign, the event is part of Dr Bawumia’s broader strategy to deepen public understanding of the party’s vision and policies ahead of the December 2024 general elections.

“All media houses interested in sending representatives to this engagement should kindly send an email to:  itispossible@bawumia.com, latest by Close of Business Thursday 22nd August 2024”

In a statement, Miracles Aboagye indicated that the Vice President and the New Patriotic Party flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is keen to ensure that its message resonates clearly with the Ghanaian populace.

Importanace of Media Engagement

According to him, Dr Bawumia, known for his emphasis on clarity and direct communication, believes that every Ghanaian deserves a comprehensive view of their leaders’ vision before casting their vote.

He emphasized that the upcoming media engagement is designed to provide the platform for such an exchange, offering the public an opportunity to gain deeper insights into the policies and programs outlined in the manifesto.

Additionally, the Director of Communications for the Bawumia 2024 Campaign pointed out that the media engagement, scheduled for August 25, is part of a series of activities organized by Dr. Bawumia and his campaign team to ensure that the manifesto’s key points are well communicated and understood by the electorate.

He mentioned that Dr Bawumia’s campaign’s theme, “To Lead is to Solve,” underscores the NPP’s focus on practical solutions to Ghana’s challenges, with Dr. Bawumia positioning himself as the leader capable of delivering these solutions.

Notably, this decision by Dr. Bawumia to engage directly with the media comes in response to recent challenge from the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The NDC has repeatedly questioned the feasibility and depth of the NPP’s proposed policies, challenging Dr Bawumia to clarify how his administration would deliver on its promises should he win the December elections.

The media interaction will likely cover a wide range of topics, including economic recovery, cost of living, job creation, corruption, digitalization, education, and infrastructure development.

Dr Bawumia is expected to provide detailed explanations and answer questions from the media, thereby deepening public understanding of the NPP’s plans.

The NPP’s 2024 manifesto, which was launched on August 18, 2024, has been described by party officials as a comprehensive roadmap for Ghana’s economic recovery and progress.

However, it has also attracted scrutiny from various quarters, including the opposition National Democratic Congress and civil society organizations.

The media engagement is anticipated to draw representatives from various media houses across the country, providing a platform for a robust and interactive session.

In other related development, the MP for Ofoase-Ayirebi Constituency and Vice Chairperson for the NPP 2024 Manifesto Committee, Honorable Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, in an earlier remark following the party’s manifesto launch, outlined a three-tiered approach to simplify the tax regime to foster clarity and predictability.

These proposed reforms, he noted are grounded in the belief that a more straightforward taxation system can reduce tax evasion, enhance business operations, and drive economic growth.

Hon. Kojo Nkrumah pointed out that the inherent complexity in the current tax structure, exacerbated by recent changes introduced to address economic challenges, has made the system more cumbersome.
