Cheddar Files Nomination at the EC HQ

The leader and Flagbearer of New Force Party Nana Kwame Bediako popularly known as Cheddar has officially filed his nomination to contest in the 2024 elections. His entry into the national governance landscape marks a new chapter, not just for himself, but for an entire generation of young Ghanaians looking to make a difference in the country’s leadership.

Speaking after filling his nomination, Nana Bediako expressed his gratitude and pride in this significant step.

“It’s a historic moment. It’s the first time people of our generation have stepped forward to be a part of this national governance, and I thank God for being one of the people who have started this whole movement, making sure that people of our age, people that belong to the youth sector, finally are part of this movement and national governance of this country.”

The Youth Movement

Cheddar’s candidacy represents more than just a political campaign—it is the embodiment of a youth-driven movement aimed at securing a place for younger generations in the governance of Ghana. He made it clear that the energy and aspirations of the youth are pivotal to the future of the country, highlighting that it is not just about the present campaign, but about long-term involvement in nation-building.

“I am proud to be a Ghanaian, and I feel good to stand for the people of this nation,” he shared, reflecting his deep connection to his roots. His pride in being Ghanaian is a sentiment that resonates with many, as the country faces a crossroads where fresh leadership is sought to address the challenges of today.

A Campaign with Strong Ground Support

Reflecting on the campaign so far, Bediako expressed satisfaction with the progress made, noting the positive reception from the public.

“The campaign is good, and, I must say that Ghanaians have been very much embracing.”

This endorsement from the people is crucial for any political candidate, and Cheddar’s comment underscores the hope that many have placed in his ability to bring change. This optimism is not merely about political aspirations but is deeply rooted in the belief that a new Ghana can be built by Ghanaians themselves. He continued to emphasize this point, stating, “I know that we can build a better country by us from us.” This powerful statement speaks to his vision of a self-reliant Ghana, where solutions come from within and are driven by the collective efforts of its citizens.

“It’s not just going to take the campaign to make this, but it’s going take the people of this country to decide and make this a better place.”

The Vice President’s Question

As expected, the question of who his running mate will be arose during the conversation. However, Cheddar remained tight-lipped on the matter, stating that he would reveal this information at the appropriate time. In his characteristic style,

“I would when the time is right. Like you always know, we unveil. So don’t worry. Keep waiting. When the mask comes off, you will see that one.”
