Vice President Kamala Harris’ performance at the presidential debate against Donald Trump has been praised, with many saying that she won the debate outrightly.

President Joe Biden said he feels Harris won the debate, noting in a post on X that it “wasn’t even close.”

“VP Harris proved she’s the best choice to lead our nation forward. We’re not going back,” Biden added.

Also, former President, Barack Obama stated that Harris showed that she will be “a President for all Americans.”

“We saw firsthand who has the vision and strength to move this country forward instead of dividing us,” Obama wrote on social media.

At a watch party after the debate, Second Gentleman, Doug Emhoff praised Harris’ debate performance.

“I told you she was ready. You won that debate,” Emhoff said, standing alongside Harris. Nonetheless, he urged supporters to do more.

“Hold on, but we haven’t won anything yet, right? So, we got to take this energy, we got to take this momentum and she showed everyone — especially Donald Trump — what a real leader is, and now we’re going to take this momentum for the next 55 days so I can call my wife the next President of the United States.”

Pennsylvania Governor, Josh Shapiro said that he was worried that the country had “brain fog” about Donald Trump’s record as President.

Shapiro said, “I think Kamala Harris wiped out that brain fog.”

“She reminded people just how nonsensical he is, how divisive he is,” Shapiro said.

“I thought the Vice President did a great job, both laying out her vision and also prosecuting the case against Donald Trump, showing the clear contrast – particularly on the issue of abortion and the fundamental freedom for women to be able to make decisions over their own bodies.”

Additionally, Governor Gavin Newsom of California praised Harris’ performance saying that she commanded the stage from the first moments.

“She won the debate, if the purpose tonight was to win the debate, to show she’s a commander in chief, to show she has character and temperance, to show that she can take on a bully like Donald Trump, I think she did it.”

The Governor also took aim at Trump’s performance.

“He was weak across the board, I would love to see another debate in October,” he said.

Moments after the debate was over, the Harris campaign was seen calling for another round.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump immediately looked to turn the debate against Kamala Harris into a win

“I think it was the best debate that I’ve ever personally that I’ve had,” Trump said in the “spin room,” where supporters of each candidate put their “spin” on the debate in conversations with reporters.

He questioned whether he would participate in a second one.

He said that Harris “wants to do another one because she got beaten tonight, but I don’t know if we’re going to be doing another one.”

Trump was again noncommittal when asked on a news channel whether he would agree to another debate with Harris.

“I have to think about it, but if you won the debate, I sort of think maybe I shouldn’t do it,” he said.

“Why should I do another debate? She immediately said, ‘We want another.’ That’s, you know, what happens when you’re a prizefighter and you lose, you immediately want a new fight.”
