Adele Tearfully Hugs Celine Dion at Las Vegas Show

Adele and Celine Dion

Adele and Celine Dion shared a tearful exchange at the British singer’s show.

Celine Dion, 56, was one of many people in attendance at the “Hello” singer’s recent concert in Las Vegas.

While singing her song “Easy On Me,” Adele became visibly moved at the sight of Celine Dion, who she approached for a hug that got the crowd roaring.

Singer Laments Audiences Now Attend Live Concerts Finding Faults

The Grammy-winner, dressed in a sleek all-black ensemble, by the end of the embrace, dabbed tears out of her eyes with a tissue, appearing to be as overcome by the moment as Adele.

Adele even asked the crowd to help her finish singing the song. Celine Dion then kissed Adele’s hand before letting her go and taking her seat once again.

“Give it up for Miss Celine Dion,” said Adele, prompting the music legend to stand up to the thunderous cheers of fans in the audience.

Adele also referred to Dion as one of her “favorite people of all time” during the concert.

“It’s only ever been about this room. This is just a full circle moment to me so it’s amazing.”

Adele

The British singer has been vocal about her love for Celine Dion over the years, hailing her as “Queen Celine” after attending one of her performances in an Instagram post in 2018.

Their mutual admiration for one another is well-documented, with Adele having previously shown off her most prized possession: a used piece of Dion’s chewing gum that she got framed.

A concert-goer called Nasser, who captured the moment on his phone expressed his thoughts.

“This truly felt like she was proudly handing the keys to Adele. And when Adele gave her that hug, everyone felt what they felt.”

The moment took place at the very same venue that was built for Dion over two decades ago when she first launched her own Las Vegas residency “A New Day,” something Adele acknowledged during Saturday’s concert

Adele returned to The Colosseum this weekend to continue her residency after taking a break to perform a series of shows in Munich in a purpose-built outdoor arena.

Weekends With Adele launched at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in November 2022 and is due to conclude on November 23, this year.

Her run of sell-out shows at the venue, which seats around 4,000 people, has been a success but has also taken its toll. In July, she announced she would take a “big break” from music after she runs upcoming shows.

Celine Dion made a triumphant return to live singing in the summer to close the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics amid her battle with stiff person syndrome (SPS).

The condition is a rare autoimmune neurological disorder that most commonly causes muscle stiffness and painful spasms, according to the Johns Hopkins Medicine website.

Adele opened up about the resulting health issue she contracted while on tour.

The “Easy On Me” songstress, who is currently in the middle of a Las Vegas residency, revealed she now lives with a health condition that has caused her quite a bit of pain.

She shared her news with her Las Vegas audience.

The “To Make You Feel My Love” songstress called the ear infection she is enduring “pretty grim.” The irritation from Adele’s ear infection is new as she revealed to the crowd it was her first ear infection ever.

“It is the most painful thing that ever, ever happened to me in my life. It was worse than childbirth.”

Adele

Treating the excruciatingly painful ear infection took a few tries for the singer, and she was candid about the process.

“It is hard to treat, so I was on the wrong antibiotics for a few days. They managed to give me one that started to work. I’m no longer in pain, which is great, [but] I’m a bit deaf in my left ear.”

Adele

The “Rolling in the Deep” singer candidly shared the origin of her aching ear infection, saying that she contracted a “rare water bacteria” earlier this spring while on tour in Germany.
