Celebrated Ghanaian musician, Stonebwoy has shared that many Ghanaians often mistake him for a foreigner, particularly a Jamaican, due to his dancehall style and international collaborations.

The BHIM Nation president, when asked about a common misconception surrounding him, remarked, “They think I’m from Jamaica in Ghana. Most of my people think that I’m foreign.”

Stonebwoy’s Jamaican-inspired style and prominent presence in the dancehall scene often lead Ghanaians to perceive him as Caribbean.

He has worked with some of Jamaica’s top artists, including Morgan Heritage and Sean Paul, which he believes has won him acceptance within the Jamaican music landscape and influenced the way Ghanaians view him.

The ‘Into The Future’ coroner has earned recognition in Jamaica and other international scenes, thanks to a music journey marked by collaborations with over 47 artists worldwide—a milestone he hinted is still growing with unreleased projects.

Stonebwoy was asked to rate his outfit and confidently replied, “No, we do 100, we don’t do 10.” He elaborated on his attire.

“Balenciaga’s, of course. The chrome Balenciaga hoodie. All plain virements from Paris. Flannel Homme, some Gucci. Jewellery from Just Frost London. That’s where everybody gets their stuff. Burna Boy, Wizkid, Asake, Patoranking, Adebayor, your footballers.”

Beyond his music, Stonebwoy’s fashion choices are also deeply rooted in his artistic persona. Listing his signature style essentials, he shared that chains, shades, hats, teeth grills, and sneakers are a part of his everyday look.

These items, he explained, help convey his international yet authentic identity, resonating with both Ghanaian and global audiences.

Interestingly, despite his global appeal, Stonebwoy maintains a strong connection to Ghana, enjoying traditional dishes like banku with okro stew.

This blend of international appeal with local pride has helped Stonebwoy stand out in both the Ghanaian and international music landscapes, furthering his influence and relatability among fans at home and abroad.

Former Nigeria footballers, Austin Jay Jay Okocha and Nwankwo Kanu heaped praises on Ghanaian singer Stonebwoy following his performance in Togo during the Emmanuel Adebayor Jubilee Charity event.

Stonebwoy, known in real life as Livingstone Etse Satekla, joined other top musicians from the continent to perform for the ex-Arsenal at a concert held in Lomé.

The event was crowned with a football game between African Legends and Togolese Football Legends.

In a video shared on social media, Stonebwoy had a surprise meeting with Okocha and Kanu, who were impressed seeing the Ghanaian dancehall superstar perform for the first time.

Okocha was heard saying you are too much to signify he enjoyed the performance of Stonebwoy. The Nigerian legend then exchanged pleasantries with the singer before parting company.

Stonebwoy is revered across the continent for his musical prowess, winning several awards including the BET.

The dancehall artist made the trip with his team members, of which his younger brother, Selasi, plays a part.

Selasi, born Elijah Satekla is the only remaining blood brother. He aspires to be a professional footballer.

The youngster was excited as he got the opportunity to meet several African soccer legends in Lome for Adebayor’s charity game.

In photos sighted, Selasie was spotted in a jersey similar to what Adebayor, Asamoah Gyan, and others wore on gameday.

He shared his proud moments with the stars on social media, and Stonebwoy followed suit, garnering significant traction.

Adebayor enjoyed a glittering football career, playing for several top clubs including Real Madrid, Tottenham, and Manchester City.
