Sally Mann, a Ghanaian entertainment pundit and critic, has disclosed that she, along with other media personalities in the country, planned to end the career of dancehall musician, Shatta Wale.

The outspoken journalist explained that their primary objective was to promote Stonebwoy and push him toward winning a Grammy award while sidelining Shatta Wale.

“We held caucus meetings to push Stonebwoy toward winning a Grammy. The agenda was clear; we are supporting you [Stonebwoy] because Shatta Wale doesn’t respect traditional media. But now, you [Stonebwoy] are deviating from the plan by responding to Shatta Wale. How dare you respond to him.

“The agenda was to take you to the Grammys, and as for him [Shatta Wale], his career is over. He is now a pensioner. Look at how well you’ve done over the past three years, even with your 5th dimension album. But now you’re making things difficult for us. Don’t be a puppet for Shatta Wale.”

In expressing her disappointment with Stonebwoy, she argues that the ‘Overlord’ hitmaker should not have responded to any of Shatta Wale’s rants while on a media tour promoting his project.

Sally Mann emphasizes how Stonebwoy’s cheeky response to Shatta Wale in interviews and at a Twitter Space live session with fans after the “On God” singer dragged him prompted her to speak out.

She adds that she has discovered that Stonebwoy is pondering whether or not to fight on his own, while they have joined together to protect him from Shatta Wale and his constant impersonations.

She warned that his frequent comments, particularly his statement that the ‘Jejereje’ remix with Skrewfaze isn’t ideal, could damage his brand and hinder some opportunities. “As a sensible person, you should know that fans alone can’t get you a Grammy. If Skewfaze jumps on a track, he can bring his fans into the mix too,” Sally Mann said.

Sally Mann advised Stonebwoy to stop trying to do the job of a PR. “You talk too much, PR work isn’t for everyone. That’s why you have someone in charge to handle that for you,” she added.

Sally Mann’s comments come on the heels of Stonebwoy’s statement that a remix of his ‘Jejereje’ song with hiplife artist, Skrewfaze would not be commercially beneficial for him.

Recently, the BHIM Nation president has faced backlash for what some people perceive as unnecessary comments and a habit of overhyping himself in foreign interviews.

After media personality, Sally Mann claimed that there was a plot against Shatta Wale to bring him down and push Stonebwoy to the Grammys, Stonebwoy has taken to social media to respond to the criticism.

According to him, he is unbothered by negativity and remains committed to his artistic mission.

Stonebwoy tweeted in pidgin implying that people constantly talk about him treating his head as if they carry a heavy basket on their heads. “My matter dey for their mouth and them dey carry me like abele for their head o. Abele kotoku – Oleku” #Shine,” he said in the tweet.

He referenced a Bible verse to affirm that despite criticism or opposition, his reputation and legacy are unshakeable since he’s focusing on his musical journey. “No matter what they hate me for, none a dem coulda wipe out Rasta’s name. #Psalm23,” he added

Stonebwoy’s statement follows Sally Mann’s recent controversial comments, in which she claimed that there were deliberate efforts to sabotage Shatta Wale’s career to push Stonebwoy’s road to Grammy recognition.

The allegations sparked a heated discussion on social media, with followers of both artists expressing differing opinions.

However, Shatta Wale who feels vindicated, also took to social media to share his response. “Dem say dem do meeting to bring me down ooo,” he wrote in a mix of pidgin and English, alongside a post on Twitter.
