Ghanaian media personality, MzGee, has taken a strong swipe at social media users who hide behind anonymous or ghost accounts to spew insults and negativity online.
Speaking during a passionate monologue on her Gee O’clock show, the broadcaster questioned the courage of trolls who lack the guts to confront people with their real identities.
“If you’re bold enough to go and insult people, come with your real face. Let’s see who we’re dealing with. Why do you go and create ghost accounts to talk trash? Me, who am I in the scheme of affairs that you create a whole ghost account just to come and insult me?”

MzGee described the trend as both cowardly and toxic, highlighting how these faceless accounts often embolden others to join in online harassment.
She noted that many of these accounts bear fake names, untraceable handles, or cartoonish avatars, making it impossible to engage meaningfully or even determine the mental state of the people behind them.
“You can’t even tell whether you’re dealing with a brainy person or an idiot. And yet they want to dictate how you should behave on your own page.”
MzGee
The broadcaster’s remarks speak to a broader conversation around cyberbullying and the lack of accountability on social media.
While some fans encouraged her to ignore such comments and “be the bigger person,” MzGee insisted that trolls should not be allowed to operate unchecked.
She urged critics to own their comments and identities if they truly believe in what they post. Her comments come after she was attacked on social media for sharing a video of herself in a joyous mood.
MzGee Lashes Out on Critics

The media personality lashed out at critics who constantly urge her to ignore negative comments on social media.
The celebrated broadcaster expressed her frustration over the toxic behaviour of some online users who post insulting or condescending remarks under her content, only to turn around and police her reactions.
“I get sick and tired of people coming and saying, ‘leave them, you shouldn’t respond.’ Like sometimes, people need to be put in their place.”
MzGee
She questioned why anyone would follow personalities they do not like just to hurl insults at them, describing it as a deeply disturbing trend.
“How do you take your own phone, buy data, go online, and follow people you don’t even like, just to post trash? How do you even breathe?”
MzGee
MzGee explained that her presence on social media is not only for personal engagement but also part of her professional responsibility as an entertainment journalist.
She follows celebrities and entertainment figures to monitor trends, gather content, and stay informed, not because she always supports or agrees with them.

She took issue with those who demand that public figures must “be the bigger person” and endure online abuse in silence. To her, respect is reciprocal, and silence is not always the best response.
“I’m somebody people know. That doesn’t mean I don’t have blood flowing through my veins. If you come and write trash on my page, be prepared, I will give it back to you back-to-back.”
MzGee
She admitted that while she blocks offensive users, many return with ghost accounts to continue with their harassment. For her, responding directly is sometimes necessary to shut down toxicity before it escalates.
“When you don’t respond, others follow the trash. Sometimes I just feel like telling them my piece of mind. I don’t always want to be the bigger person. I’m sorry.”
MzGee
MzGee further called out those who claim to be “disappointed” in her responses. “Take your disappointments elsewhere. If you don’t want me responding, stop coming on my page with trash,” she said.
