Cina Soul Reveals Her Ideal Partner

Cina Soul

Ghanaian singer-songwriter Cina Soul (real name Christie Quincyna Quarcoopome) has voiced her deep concern and fear following a chilling threat made by Kumawood actor Big Akwes during a televised interview.

In a widely circulated video clip, Big Akwes was participating in a game of Kiss–Marry–Kill when he disturbingly stated that he would “kill Cina Soul.”

The actor elaborated his comment with graphic detail, claiming he would summon her through a spiritual mirror, stab her repeatedly, and drink her blood.

Clearly shaken, Cina Soul took to her official X (formerly Twitter) account to call for action and protection, tagging the Ghana Police Service, Communications Minister Sam George, and the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation.

“@GhPoliceService I’m deeply unsettled by this. I initially chose not to respond to earlier comments because I do not wish to be associated with this individual, but at this point I feel genuinely threatened. @samgeorgegh @mocghana I may not know the proper channels to report this, but it’s critical we take a firm stance against this kind of dangerous rhetoric being broadcast on our TV and radio platforms. We must not normalise hate.”

Her post has since sparked widespread outrage and support, with many calling for an investigation and sanctions against both Big Akwes and Bryt TV for airing the disturbing content.

This is not the first time Big Akwes has targeted the ‘Ojorley singer. In April 2025, he faced public condemnation after mocking Cina Soul’s outfit in a dance video promoting her ‘Did I Lie?’ album. He accused her of being “attention-seeking” and body-shamed her appearance.

Following that incident, Max TV, where the initial commentary aired, issued a formal apology, admitting the remarks were inappropriate and uncalled for. However, Big Akwes refused to apologise and instead urged the public to “re-analyse” the clip.

Cina Soul’s recent outcry has added urgency to calls for greater regulation of broadcast content in Ghana, with media advocacy groups urging the National Communications Authority to take swift action against platforms that permit hate speech and violent commentary.

Ghanaian actor and filmmaker Big Akwes apologised to singer Cina Soul after making disturbing comments about her during an appearance in an interview that sparked public outrage.

Many people who watched the video found his words violent and troubling.

On July 1, 2025, Cina Soul reacted to the video on social media. She stated that she felt threatened by Big Akwes’ comments and tagged the Ghana Police Service and the Minister of Communication, asking them to look into the matter.

Cina Soul’s reaction to the post went viral, and netizens criticised both Big Akwes and Bryt TV for allowing such language to be aired.

In response to the backlash, Bryt TV invited Big Akwes back on air to clarify his comments. During the follow-up appearance, Big Akwes said he never meant any harm and insisted that his words were only meant to entertain.

“This was meant purely for entertainment purposes; I never intended to actually harm her. I even learned that her mother was scared by what I said, and for that, I’m truly sorry. Mummy, please don’t let this weigh on your heart. If my words made you believe that I would harm Cina Soul, that was not my intention at all. It was just for entertainment. I sincerely apologize if my comments caused panic for Cina Soul, her family, close friends, or anyone connected to her. I have no malicious intentions toward her.”

Bryt TV also issued an apology in the caption of the video they posted about Big Akwes’ apology. They acknowledged the public’s concerns and apologised to both Cina Soul and their viewers.

“In light of the public reaction to a recent segment featuring Kumawood actor Big Akwes, we have taken steps to address the sentiments expressed, in line with our values as a media platform. We extend our sincere apology to singer @cina_soul and our cherished audience for any unintended offense caused during the ‘Kiss, Marry, Kill’ segment. We remain committed to upholding respect and responsibility in our content.”
