MOG Beatz Accuses Shatta Wale of Stealing His Intellectual Property

MOG Beatz and Shatta Wale

Ghana’s dancehall heavyweight, Shatta Wale, has once again seized the spotlight, this time not for his music, but for a storm of controversy involving industry disputes, luxury cars, and a deepening legal tangle.

The week opened with a heated online clash between Shatta Wale and music producer MOG Beatz, reigniting long-standing tensions between the two.

MOG Beatz accused the artiste of exploiting his intellectual property to deceive an international company out of millions. He wrote: “You scammed an international company using my intellectual property because you wanna buy expensive cars to ‘flex’ on your colleagues?? Old man, you’ll regret touching my work!”

In a voice note recording he later shared on his page, the music producer called on the dancehall musician to dialogue with the international company he had allegedly scammed before they approached him for a resolution.

MOG Beatz alleged that Shatta Wale had illegally claimed ownership of over 25 beats he produced for him and sold them to a foreign company for a lot of money.

He threatened to provide evidence and expose the musician if he dared to respond to the accusations with a defamation suit.

MOG Beatz also shared that he had successfully gotten two of Shatta Wale’s albums, ‘Reign’ and ‘Wondaboy’, removed from the Apple Music streaming platform over alleged intellectual property theft.

He also threatened to get more of the dancehall musician’s music projects removed from the various music streaming platforms.

In February 2021, MOG Beatz accused Shatta Wale of not paying for his contributions to his 2018 Reign album.

The producer claimed that Shatta Wale promised to pay him during the production but completely ignored him after the album became a success.

The accusation led to an exchange of words between MOG Beatz and Shatta Wale, with the dancehall musician threatening physical harm.

The allegations quickly split opinion. While some fans and insiders sided with the music producer, citing past controversies linked to Shatta Wale, others dismissed the claims as part of a personal vendetta.

The issue grew more complicated when attention shifted to Shatta Wale’s 2019 Lamborghini Urus.

The dual controversies have fuelled widespread debate, showing Shatta Wale’s complicated relationship with both the music industry and law enforcement. While some fans are rallying behind him in solidarity, others are calling for full accountability.

MOG Beatz’s accusations against Shatta stirred reactions.

“The law works in Ghana. Get a good lawyer, file all your evidence, and sue him. No need for shouting and all. Go collect x3 of the money for court.”

The dancehall artist accused producer MOG Beatz of being ungrateful after MOG claimed Shatta used his music without paying properly.

Earlier today, MOG posted on X, suggesting Shatta didn’t pay or give him credit for his work, as such two of his albums were taken down from apple music. Shatta Wale hit back at him on X.

“I paid for your mom’s eye surgery and gave you money for studio gear as payment for your beats. That’s a scam, right? No problem! People like you make artists not want to help new producers. Let’s meet face-to-face and see if you can say this to me, ungrateful fool!”

He shared music video pictures and pointed to MOG’s earlier post listing albums, including Shatta’s.

The argument is blowing up online, with fans and others talking about it. MOG hasn’t replied to Shatta’s latest post yet, and everyone’s waiting to see what happens next.
