Chief Executive Officer of Aduana FC, Collins Atta Poku, has made an emotional declaration that the club is determined to win the MTN FA Cup in honour of their late player, Dominic Frimpong.
Frimpong, a winger for Berekum Chelsea who was on loan from the Dormaa-based Aduana FC, tragically lost his life following an armed attack on the team while they were returning from a Ghana Premier League fixture against FC Samartex.
The shocking incident has sent waves of grief across the Ghanaian football community, with the Fire Boys now rallying around a singular purpose to immortalize their fallen player.

Speaking ahead of their crucial semi-final game, Atta Poku made it clear that the team’s FA Cup campaign now carries a deeper emotional significance.
“We want to win the MTN FA Cup in honour of the late Dominic Frimpong.”

The Aduana FC CEO also shared a touching personal memory involving the late winger, revealing a lighthearted exchange that has now taken on a poignant meaning.
“We had a conversation before his passing when the player jokingly sent me a voice note saying that if Aduana FC don’t win the FA Cup we should sack all the players.”

He added that with determination they will “ Win it for him.”
Those words now echo strongly within the club as players and technical staff prepare for one of the most important matches of their season.
Aduana FC have never won the MTN FA Cup, and the opportunity to reach the final presents both a historic sporting milestone and a chance to pay tribute to Frimpong’s memory.
Beyond the immediate emotional drive, Atta Poku also outlined his broader vision for the club’s future, signaling ambitions that extend well beyond domestic success.
“I want to take Aduana FC to the level of TP Mazembe during their era of dominance in African football and we will get there.”

The comparison to the Congolese giants underscores a long-term commitment to building a competitive and formidable side capable of making an impact on the continental stage.
Semi-final Showdown Beckons
On the pitch, Aduana FC face a stern test as they take on Nations FC in the semi-final at the Swedru Sports Stadium on Friday, April 17.
With a place in the final at stake, both sides are expected to approach the game with caution.
The match will be officiated by FIFA referee Daniel Laryea, whose experience is expected to be crucial in managing what promises to be a high-stakes encounter.
In the other semi-final fixture, Dreams FC will go head-to-head with Premier League leaders Medeama SC in another exciting clash for a place in the final.

Maxwell Hanson has been appointed as the center referee for that encounter, adding further credibility to the officiating lineup as the competition draws closer to its climax.
As the MTN FA reaches its decisive, the spotlight will firmly be on Aduana FC, not just for their performances, but for the emotional story driving their campaign. This game will be more than just a pursuit of silverware; it is a mission to honour a teammate whose life was cut short under tragic circumstances.
The Ghana Football Association has directed all participating clubs to honour the late Dominic Frimpong. A minute of silence will therefore be observed during the MTN FA Cup semi-finals and the Women’s Premier League final at the Swedru Stadium.
In addition to the moment of silence, players will wear black armbands throughout the matches as a mark of respect for the departed soul.
