“Ghana’s response to this changing global environment is anchored in four broad strategic priorities: reforming global governance, deepening African integration, building balanced and mutually beneficial partnerships, and strengthening sovereign agency over our national development trajectory. First, Ghana believes that the institutions of global governance must evolve to reflect contemporary geopolitical realities rather than the power structures of 1945.”

His Excellency John Dramani Mahama highlighted that Africa’s population growth and contribution to global affairs justify equitable representation in international decision making. The President Mahama stressed that legitimacy of the global system depends on inclusivity and fairness.
He further noted that debt vulnerabilities in developing countries are restricting investments in essential sectors such as health, education and infrastructure. His Excellency, President Mahama, explained that financial reform is necessary to unlock sustainable development.
The President Mahama added that global taxation frameworks must be redesigned to ensure fairness in value distribution across economies. He argued that persistent inequality weakens the stability of the international system.
