Oobak3 Experience 2026

Accra is set to witness a spectacular fusion of music, culture, and boxing when Naomi Alabi presents The Oobake Experience 2026 on Friday, August 7. Billed as “Homowo Under The Stars,” the event promises an unforgettable evening at the iconic Bukom Boxing Arena, starting at 4pm.

Organizers are positioning the gathering as a major highlight of the Homowo festival calendar, blending high-energy Ga traditional celebrations with contemporary Ghanaian music and a special boxing exhibition.

The poster for the event, featuring vibrant yellow and red tones with a prominent sun motif and elephant silhouette, signals a festive atmosphere. At the center of the lineup stands Tinny, one of Ghana’s most respected hip-life pioneers, who is expected to deliver a commanding performance.

He will be joined by a formidable roster of artists including Gasmilla, EL, D-Black, Cina Soul, Jupitar, Nii Funny, Mix Master Garzy & The Band Masters, King Jerry, Luther, Fatoozia, Herman Suede, Adotey Tetoh, Alorman, and several more acts yet to be announced.

This star-studded bill reflects a deliberate celebration of Nshorna music, a genre deeply rooted in Ga cultural expressions. By bringing together established veterans and emerging talents, the Oobake Experience aims to preserve and promote indigenous sounds while appealing to younger audiences.

The inclusion of live instrumentation through The Band Masters further highlights the organizers’ commitment to authentic musical experiences rather than purely DJ-driven sets.

Adding another layer of excitement is the boxing component. The event will feature a special 10-year celebration exhibition fight between popular boxing personalities Bukom Banku and Ayittey Powers. This showdown is more than just entertainment; it represents a homecoming of sorts for Bukom, the historic neighborhood renowned for producing boxing champions and embodying raw Ghanaian resilience.

The fight is expected to draw boxing enthusiasts alongside music fans, creating a unique cross-over appeal.

Naomi Alabi, the event presenter, has a track record of delivering memorable cultural productions. Her vision for The Oobake Experience appears to center on community, heritage, and high-quality entertainment. By choosing Bukom Boxing Arena as the venue, she is anchoring the event in a space rich with local history and significance.

The arena, often associated with grassroots sports and community gatherings, provides the perfect backdrop for an open-air celebration under the stars.

About the Event

The event’s timing during the Homowo festival is strategic. Homowo, which translates roughly to “hooting at hunger,” is a major Ga festival marked by feasts, drumming, and street processions. By aligning The Oobake Experience with this period, organizers are tapping into existing cultural momentum and offering both locals and visitors a modern interpretation of traditional festivities. Attendees can expect elements of Ga pageantry alongside contemporary performances.

Sponsorship backing for the event is impressive and diverse. Major partners include Emoto, EIB Network, Electroland Ghana Limited, Star Oil, AEI Shop, National Youth Authority, Creative Arts Agency, Hennessy, Bel-Aqua, Live & Direct, Telecel, District, Best, CDR Africa, SLAC, and others. This broad corporate support indicates strong confidence in the event’s potential to attract sizable crowds and deliver value to sponsors through targeted brand exposure.

For music lovers, the Oobake Experience offers a rare opportunity to see multiple heavyweights on one stage. Tinny’s longevity in the industry, combined with D-Black’s entrepreneurial energy, EL’s lyrical prowess, and the melodic appeal of artistes like Cina Soul and Jupitar, creates a balanced lineup capable of satisfying different musical tastes. Up-and-coming talents such as Alorman and Adotey Tetoh will also get valuable exposure.

The integration of boxing adds a compelling narrative dimension. Bukom Banku and Ayittey Powers are household names whose rivalry and personalities have entertained Ghanaians for years. Their exhibition bout, framed as a 10-year celebration, is likely to be more spectacle than serious competition, allowing both fighters to showcase charisma and entertain the audience between musical performances.

Event logistics appear well-considered. An afternoon start time of 4pm suggests the show will stretch into the night, giving attendees the full “under the stars” experience promised in the branding. The choice of Bukom Boxing Arena ensures adequate space for both seated and standing audiences, while its central location makes it accessible via public transport. Security and crowd management will be critical given the expected turnout.

Culturally, The Oobake Experience fits into a growing trend of festivals that blend tradition with modernity. Ghana’s creative industry continues to gain international recognition, and events like this help strengthen the domestic ecosystem by providing platforms for local artists. The emphasis on Nshorna music is particularly noteworthy, as it highlights lesser-mainstream but culturally significant sounds that deserve wider appreciation.

As August 7 approaches, anticipation is building across Accra. Social media platforms are already buzzing with discussions about the lineup and predictions for the boxing exhibition. For many, the event represents more than entertainment; it is a celebration of identity, community resilience, and the enduring power of music to bring people together.

Tickets and further details are expected to be released soon through official channels and partner outlets. Organizers have hinted at possible early-bird packages and VIP experiences that could include closer access to artists and premium viewing areas for the fight.

The Oobake Experience 2026 stands poised to be one of the most memorable cultural events of the year. With its rich lineup, cultural relevance, and unique boxing-musical fusion, it captures the vibrant spirit of Ghanaian entertainment.
