The Member of the NDC Communications Team and Development Analyst, Wonder Madilo, has urged Ghanaians to allow state institutions to perform their duties within the framework of the law following the arrest of Dennis Miracles Aboagye by the Economic and Organised Crime Office. He argued that public discussions surrounding the case should focus on due process, human rights and the independence of investigative bodies.
Mr Madilo explained that the legal system provides several avenues for challenging decisions taken by investigative institutions. According to the NDC Communications Team Member, concerns over bail conditions and administrative decisions can be addressed through the courts without undermining ongoing legal processes.
Noting the debates surrounding the bail terms imposed on Miracles Aboagye, he urged the New Patriotic Party and other stakeholders to approach the arrest within the context of established legal procedures. He emphasised that lawyers retain the option of seeking a review of conditions if they consider them excessive or inappropriate.
“All I want is for Ghana to be governed by law and order. Whether it is a former president, a sitting president or any ordinary citizen, the law and the institutions must be allowed to work.”

Discussing the wider implications of the matter, Mr Madilo stressed the need for fairness in every investigation. He indicated that respect for human dignity remains essential regardless of an individual’s political affiliation or public standing.
The NDC Communications Team Member further argued that allegations of political motives should be examined carefully and supported by evidence. In his assessment, the most important consideration is whether investigators act within the powers granted to them by law.
Reference was also made to previous investigations involving public figures in Ghana. Mr Madilo cited former President Jerry John Rawlings, President John Dramani Mahama and former Vice Presidential candidate of the NPP Matthew Opoku Prempeh as examples of individuals who have at various times engaged with investigative institutions.
Similarly, he pointed to international examples involving political leaders who had appeared before courts while occupying high office. The development analyst suggested that accountability mechanisms form part of democratic governance and should not automatically be interpreted through a partisan lens.

Mr Madilo also called for measured public discourse as investigations continue. He argued that confidence in national institutions grows when legal processes are allowed to proceed without unnecessary political tension.
The development analyst therefore appealed for patience while the matter moves through the appropriate channels. He added that the ultimate objective should be the protection of justice, fairness and the rule of law for every citizen.
Lawful Process Must Guide High Profile Investigations
Addressing developments surrounding the arrest of Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Wonder Madilo stated that investigative bodies have a responsibility to apply the law consistently irrespective of a person’s political affiliation. From his perspective, fairness remains the strongest safeguard for public confidence in the country’s justice system.
He explained that EOCO has publicly indicated that investigations into the matter has been ongoing for several months following a petition and a forensic audit. According to the NDC Communications Team Member, the agency also stated that new evidence informed its latest decision to effect the arrest.
Meanwhile, Wonder Madilo encouraged the public to distinguish legal processes from political commentary while allowing investigators to perform their statutory duties. He suggested that allegations should be tested through lawful procedures instead of speculation in the public domain.

Furthermore, he observed that the arrest followed actions involving the Ghana Immigration Service after a stop order was issued. Mr Madilo explained that immigration officials later transferred the suspect to EOCO after his return to the country.
Analysing the timing of reports indicating that Dennis Miracles Aboagyedeclared his intention to contest a communications position within the New Patriotic Party, he questioned whether that announcement was made before or after the arrest, saying the sequence deserves clarification to avoid creating unnecessary political interpretations.
In the same discussion, the development analyst emphasised that Dennis Miracles Aboagye has reportedly been engaging investigators before the arrest. Consequently, he argued that any fresh developments should be examined within the facts presented by investigators instead of assumptions circulating online.

He further pointed out that Ghana’s laws give the Immigration Service and the courts authority regarding travel restrictions placed on individuals under investigation. Consideration should therefore be given to the legal procedures governing such decisions before political conclusions are reached.
