Ghanaian actor, comedian and content creator Ebenezer Akwasi Antwi, popularly known as Dr Likee or Ras Nene, has been appointed Brand Ambassador for KIVO, the food products brand manufactured by Procus Ghana Ltd. The partnership was announced in mid-September 2026 and quickly shared across media platforms.

KIVO welcomed the entertainer through an official TikTok video released on September 18, describing the collaboration as one that “just feels right.” In the clip, Dr Likee appears pointing proudly to sachets of KIVO Shito while dressed in his signature layered gold jewellery.

The brand captioned the announcement: “From telling the stories of Ghana to representing A Taste of Ghana, this is a partnership that just feels right.” A separate welcome message declared “Welcome to the Kivo Family.”

KIVO markets itself under the slogan “A Taste of Ghana.” Its product range includes KIVO Hot Shito, KIVO 4in1 Gari Soaking Mix, natural spices and other convenient food items designed to deliver familiar Ghanaian flavours in modern, accessible packaging.

The company positions its offerings around everyday cultural moments and the foods that bring Ghanaians together.

Speaking on the appointment, KIVO Marketing Manager Evans Kwofie said Dr Likee’s authentic connection to Ghanaian lifestyle and storytelling aligns closely with the brand’s identity. “Dr Likee reflects Ghanaian lifestyle and storytelling in a way that is authentic and relatable. That is also what KIVO represents as a brand, making this partnership a natural fit,” he stated.

The company added that the deal forms part of its ongoing commitment to working with personalities who genuinely connect with its consumers and with Ghanaian culture as it expands its national presence.

Dr Likee has built a large following through Kumawood films and, more significantly, through comedy skits that capture the language, humour and daily realities of ordinary Ghanaians. His characters and storytelling style have made him a household name across age groups.

He previously served as brand ambassador for other companies and has remained active in both entertainment and community initiatives. Earlier in September 2026 he was seen on set for a KIVO Shito commercial alongside actress Nana Ama McBrown and another personality known as Sobolo, indicating that promotional work for the brand was already underway before the formal ambassador announcement.

The new role places Dr Likee alongside other notable Ghanaian figures who have fronted KIVO products, including footballer Mohammed Kudus and Black Queens forward Princella Adubea.

By adding a popular entertainer known for mass-market appeal and cultural relatability, the brand appears intent on strengthening its connection with everyday consumers through humour and storytelling.

For Dr Likee, the ambassadorship represents another commercial endorsement in a career that has steadily expanded beyond acting and skits. He has previously partnered with various brands and has also been involved in charitable activities, including efforts to settle hospital bills for needy patients.

His ability to command attention across social media and traditional platforms makes him an attractive partner for consumer brands seeking visibility in Ghana’s competitive market.

Public Reaction

Industry observers note that food brands in Ghana increasingly turn to entertainers and influencers who can translate product messages into culturally resonant content. KIVO’s emphasis on “A Taste of Ghana” pairs naturally with an artist whose work is rooted in local language, humour and social observation.

The partnership is expected to feature in advertising campaigns, social media content and public appearances designed to drive awareness and sales of the brand’s shito, gari mixes and spices.

The announcement has been received positively in entertainment circles, with congratulatory messages appearing online shortly after the news broke.

Fans familiar with Dr Likee’s content see the deal as a logical extension of his public persona. For KIVO, the collaboration offers an opportunity to humanise its products through an ambassador already trusted by large segments of the Ghanaian audience.

As the partnership unfolds, consumers can expect to see Dr Likee featuring in promotional materials that highlight the convenience and cultural familiarity of KIVO products. The brand continues to expand its footprint while leaning on personalities who embody aspects of Ghanaian identity.

Dr Likee’s appointment marks the latest chapter in that strategy and adds a well-known comic voice to the company’s roster of ambassadors.

Details of the duration of the deal and specific campaign plans have not been fully disclosed. What is clear is that both sides view the collaboration as a natural alignment of storytelling, culture and everyday Ghanaian taste. With the formal welcome now public, the focus shifts to the creative work that will bring the partnership to life for consumers across the country.
