Ghanaian reggae and dancehall star Samini has released the full event outline for Samini Xperience 2026, the Dansoman Edition, scheduled to run from December 18 to December 24. The programme falls under the broader DC Carnival banner and marks a deliberate homecoming for the artiste, who grew up in the Accra neighbourhood of Dansoman.
The outline begins on December 18 with a Football Gala at Karikari Park. The following day, December 19, features a Health Walk combined with a Kids Funfair, promoting wellness and family engagement. December 21 is dedicated to a Food Bazaar and Basketball competition, bringing together local vendors and sporting activity.
On December 22, the focus shifts to corporate social responsibility with a CSR Day involving the painting of Dansoman community schools. December 23 is Carnival Day, promising a fashion show, street art, bike stunts and masquerades. The week closes on December 24 with The Samini Experience Concert, the main stage performance expected to draw large crowds.
The 2026 Edition
Samini has positioned the 2026 edition as more than a traditional concert series. Unlike his Saminifest brand, which tours different parts of the country, Samini Xperience is rooted specifically in Dansoman. He has described it as a homecoming that celebrates the community that shaped his early life and career.
The event is organised in collaboration with the Dansoman Municipal Assembly, which views the week as an opportunity to boost local commerce during the festive season while showcasing the area’s culture and talent.

The artiste has emphasised the importance of using the platform to support emerging creatives from the neighbourhood. At the media launch earlier in the season, Samini stated that prioritising young talents from Dansoman was more important to him than releasing another hit song in 2026.
He noted that he has seen impressive work from local young people and wants to create opportunities for them to perform and gain wider recognition. The talent elements built into the week, including the carnival and the main concert, are expected to give these acts a stage alongside established performers.
The concert on December 24 is planned as a live-band production featuring Samini and a mix of established and emerging Ghanaian artistes. Organisers have previously indicated ambitions of attracting more than 5,000 patrons.
While the exact venue for the concert is listed in some reports as Carl Reindorf Stadium, the official outline shared focuses on the overall week of activities rather than single-site details for every day. Further announcements regarding the full concert line-up, ticket sales and precise logistics are expected closer to the dates.
Community Impact
Community impact forms a central part of the programme. Activities such as the school painting on CSR Day, the health walk and the food bazaar are designed to leave tangible benefits for residents. The partnership with the municipal assembly is intended to align the entertainment elements with broader goals of neighbourhood improvement, youth engagement and economic activity during December.
Samini’s connection to Dansoman remains a key narrative of the event. The neighbourhood has long been associated with his rise in Ghanaian music. Hits such as “Linda” helped establish him nationally and internationally, and he has continued to reference his roots throughout his career.
By locating the expanded Xperience format in Dansoman, he is inviting fans and the wider public to experience the community that produced one of Ghana’s leading reggae and dancehall voices.

The timing coincides with Ghana’s busy “Detty December” period, when multiple concerts and festivals take place across Accra and other cities. Samini has previously noted that no single artiste owns a particular date and that fans will support the events that resonate with them.
The week-long structure of Samini Xperience differentiates it from one-night shows by offering sustained engagement through sports, food, fashion, community service and music.
As December approaches, promotional activity around the outline is expected to increase. The detailed schedule provides clarity for residents, vendors, schools and fans planning to take part. Corporate support has been invited to help expand the impact of the social and creative elements.
For many in Dansoman and beyond, the event represents both a celebration of local identity and a high-profile music moment on Christmas Eve.
The release of the official outline confirms that Samini Xperience 2026 will blend entertainment with community development in a structured week of activities. From the football gala on December 18 through to the main concert on December 24, the Dansoman Edition aims to bring people together while highlighting the area’s potential.
Fans and residents now have a clear roadmap for what promises to be one of the notable festive events in Accra this year.
