The Board of Peace has called on governments, international organisations and other partners to translate their political support for US President Donald Trump’s Comprehensive Plan to end the Gaza conflict into practical commitments.
This came as world leaders gather in New York for the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
In a statement on X, the Board stated that the international community must reaffirm its shared objectives for Gaza, including the demilitarisation and deradicalisation of the territory, the delivery of immediate and sustained humanitarian assistance, recovery and reconstruction, effective Palestinian civilian and security administration, and lasting security for both Palestinians and Israelis.
It also applauded the support it has received, saying, “The Board of Peace deeply appreciates the growing support of governments, international organizations, and partners for President Trump’s Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict and the Roadmap for its implementation.”
The Board said that Trump’s plan, introduced nearly a year ago, had established a new framework for addressing the conflict and had helped bring regional and international leaders together around a common approach.
According to the statement, the plan also secured the release and return of all Israeli hostages and contributed to the Gaza Peace Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh, developments that subsequently paved the way for UN Security Council Resolution 2803.
The resolution was followed by the establishment of the Board of Peace, the formation of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza and preparations for the deployment of the International Stabilization Force.
The Board said that these developments had created an institutional framework for moving from ceasefire arrangements towards longer-term political and security measures in Gaza.
It further noted that on July 30, an agreement was reached with Hamas on a detailed roadmap for implementing the next stages of the ceasefire.
The roadmap, according to the Board, provides a practical and internationally supported framework for advancing demilitarisation and deradicalisation, Israeli withdrawal, effective Palestinian civilian and security administration and reconstruction in Gaza.
The Board stressed that implementation would now depend on all parties honouring their commitments and avoiding actions that could undermine the ceasefire or lead to a renewed escalation of the conflict.
It also urged international partners to move beyond political expressions of support by making concrete contributions towards implementing the agreed framework.
With world leaders gathered for the UN General Assembly, the Board said the meeting provides an opportunity for the international community to consolidate its backing around what it described as one agreed framework for Gaza.
It added that the process could demonstrate that diplomacy can produce lasting peace and security while creating better conditions for Palestinians and Israelis.
Arab, Islamic Foreign Ministers Review Gaza Roadmap
Separately, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, participated in a coordination meeting of the Foreign Ministers of eight Arab and Islamic countries concerned with Gaza on the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly in New York on Monday.
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry said that the meeting reviewed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip, with particular attention to updates on the roadmap for completing the implementation of Trump’s comprehensive plan to end the conflict.
The meeting highlights the parallel regional diplomatic efforts surrounding the Gaza roadmap as governments seek to coordinate their positions and support measures aimed at ending the conflict.
Last week, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani discussed developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, including the Gaza Strip, with Jibril Rajoub, Secretary-General of the Palestinian movement Fatah’s Central Committee.
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry said that the meeting addressed cooperation and ways to support and strengthen it, as well as developments in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories, and several issues of mutual interest. Al Thani reaffirmed Qatar’s support for the Palestinian people and their cause, stressing the need to end the division and consolidate Palestinian unity in a way that helps the Palestinian people achieve their legitimate national rights.
The Board of Peace’s appeal comes as international attention remains focused on translating diplomatic agreements into concrete arrangements for Gaza’s governance, security, humanitarian recovery and reconstruction.
The Board said the immediate priority should be to maintain the ceasefire, fulfil existing commitments and ensure that international political support is matched by practical action.
It maintained that a coordinated international effort would be necessary to advance the roadmap and establish conditions for lasting peace and security in Gaza.
