Ghanaian rapper and singer Black Sherif has officially opened the waitlist for early bird tickets to his annual Zaama Disco concert, set for December 2026 at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Accra.

The post urged supporters to join the waitlist immediately, stating that early bird tickets “are about to fly” and promising an unforgettable December experience at the UG Sports Stadium, also known as Legon Stadium. Fans are directed to the official website to submit their email and phone number for priority notification when the discounted tickets go on sale.

The site confirms the event will take place in December 2026 at the Legon venue.

Zaama Disco

Zaama Disco has grown into one of the most anticipated live music events on Ghana’s entertainment calendar. Named after a phrase closely tied to Black Sherif’s personal story and music, the concert series has evolved from smaller gatherings into major stadium productions.

The 2025 edition marked a major milestone when the artist successfully headlined the University of Ghana Sports Stadium for the first time, drawing thousands of fans for a high-energy night of performances.

That show featured guest appearances from prominent Ghanaian acts including Sarkodie, KiDi and others, and was widely praised for its production quality, crowd energy and emotional connection between the artist and audience. Tickets for the 2025 concert sold out rapidly, with early bird allocations disappearing within minutes and the online platform experiencing high demand.

Security and logistics were effectively managed despite the large turnout, contributing to the event’s positive reputation.

By returning to the same stadium in 2026, Black Sherif becomes the first artist to headline the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on two separate occasions for his own branded concert. The achievement underscores both the commercial strength of the Zaama Disco brand and the rapper’s rising stature in Ghana’s live music scene.

Organisers confirmed the venue choice earlier in September 2026, generating early buzz among supporters who still recall the electric atmosphere of the previous year.

About the Artist

Black Sherif, born Mohammed Ismail Sherif and also known as Blacko, has built a devoted following through a distinctive blend of hip-hop, highlife influences and introspective songwriting that resonates with themes of struggle, ambition and everyday life in Ghana. Hits and projects such as those associated with his Iron Boy era and subsequent releases have cemented his position as one of the country’s leading contemporary artists.

Live performances remain central to his connection with fans, and Zaama Disco serves as the flagship annual celebration of that relationship.

The decision to open a waitlist before releasing early bird tickets is a strategic move that allows organisers to gauge genuine demand and manage the release process more effectively. Industry observers have noted that this approach helps prevent immediate sell-outs from overwhelming systems while giving dedicated fans a fair chance at the most affordable tickets.

Previous editions demonstrated strong demand, with platforms crashing under traffic during early sales windows.

As of the latest update, specific ticket prices, exact date within December, and the full lineup of supporting artists have not yet been announced. The waitlist focuses solely on granting priority access to early bird offers.

Public Expectations

Fans who join will be among the first to receive notifications once sales open. The official account has emphasised that the team is committed to making the 2026 edition special, building on the success and lessons of previous shows.

The University of Ghana Sports Stadium offers a substantial capacity suitable for large-scale concerts and has become an increasingly important venue for major Ghanaian music events. Returning to the familiar location allows organisers to refine production, sound and crowd-flow arrangements based on the 2025 experience.

For many attendees, the campus setting adds a unique atmosphere that blends academic surroundings with high-energy nightlife.

Cultural observers see Zaama Disco as more than a concert. It functions as a communal gathering that celebrates Ghanaian youth culture, artistic expression and the growing commercial viability of homegrown live entertainment.

Black Sherif’s consistent ability to fill major venues reflects broader trends in the local music industry, where artists with strong fan bases and authentic storytelling are driving demand for large-scale events.

With the waitlist now live, attention turns to how quickly it fills and when early bird tickets will officially go on sale. Supporters across Ghana and the diaspora are already mobilising, sharing the announcement and encouraging friends to register.

For Black Sherif and his team, the coming weeks will focus on converting that enthusiasm into a well-organised ticket release that sets the stage for another memorable December night in Accra.

The 2026 Zaama Disco promises to continue the tradition of high-production live music while offering fans an early opportunity to be part of it. Those interested are advised to join the waitlist promptly to maximise their chances of securing the best available tickets when they become available.
