The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has given the assurance that his government, would ensure equitable distribution of resources accruing from bauxite mining in the country.
Addressing residents of Nyinahin, in the Atwima Mponua constituency in the Ashanti Region, the President stated that his government has resolved that, no community or group of people would be discriminated against in the sharing of the national cake.
“The bauxite which would have been the property of one person would be developed for all to benefit. The Ghana integrated Bauxite and Aluminium Development Authority will soon be complete for the mining of the bauxite, out of which an industrial revolution would emerge to bring money, jobs and development to Nyinahin.”
The President also stated that, the Ghana integrated Bauxite and Aluminium Development Authority will serve as the vehicle for the establishment of an integrated aluminium industry in Ghana.
Touching on the Nyinahin bauxite deposit, the President indicated that mining of the natural resource was expected to bring enormous benefits to the people.
“It is envisioned that substantial number of the citizenry would be employed along the bauxite mining value chain for wealth and job creation.”

Moving on to highlight his achievements, President Akufo-Addo stressed that the policies and programmes implemented by his government, since his assumption of office in 2017, are further proof that the New Patriotic Party has a clear understanding of how to put the country onto the path of progress and progress and prosperity.
“The New Patriotic Party has got the blueprint for the development of Ghana, and it is going to be concretized in Akufo-Addo’s second time as President of the Republic. That is the programme ahead of us and for our country,”
President Nana Akufo-Addo said his Administration was committed to the socio-economic prosperity of the country and the government would not lose focus in achieving its objectives as it delivered on its campaign promises, citing the ‘One District, One Factory’, ‘One District, One Warehouse’ and ‘Planting for Food and Jobs’ initiatives.
Confident that his administration has met the expectations of the Ghanaian people, President Akufo-Addo appealed four more years to continue with his service to the nation.
“The more years you spend on learning something, the more experienced you become at it. So, I know that, by the grace of God, if the second term is realised, what lies ahead of us would far more exceed a hundred percent of what we have done.”
In 2018, Ghana and China signed an agreement under which the Asian economic giants would have access to sites to mine bauxite, including; Nyinahin, as compensation for development assistance from the latter.
Under the Sinohydro arrangement, each of Ghana’s 16 regions would benefit from varied development and infrastructural projects for the wellbeing of the citizenry.
The US$2billion Master Project Support was agreed on, to address major infrastructure challenges in the country.
Per the deal, Sinohydro Group Limited of China would provide the infrastructure of the government’s choice in exchange for Ghana’s refined bauxite.
