“By virtue of my husband’s work, we found ourselves in the Northern part of the country, Bolgatanga to be precise. Adjetey till then hadn’t shown any signs of illness or sickness. He was a healthy growing boy. And then one day, he suddenly fell ill”.

She further added:

“At that time, we had a domestic help who took care of Adjetey while we were both at work. We did not know what happened while we were away. I hadn’t noticed anything unusual in the morning, so it was very disturbing to see him looking so pale. What scared me even more was the fact that his pupils had disappeared and you could see the whites of his eyes”.

According to the mother, Adjetey was rushed to the hospital and she couldn’t stop praying for a miracle to happen as the situation worsened.

Adjetey’s mother said:

“His weak body was limp and almost lifeless. What could be wrong with him? He wasn’t responding to stimuli. When we got to the hospital in Bolga, he was quickly referred to Korle-Bu, Ghana’s primary teaching hospital in Accra. We set off from Tamale for Accra, and went directly to the hospital where they took good care of him”.

After diagnosis, while hailing God for the expected miracle, she said:

“The doctors said it was a stomach infection. By God’s divine grace, Adjetey’s life was saved. How God did it, I can’t tell but what I do know is, He stepped in and saved my son from death”.

Adjetey Anang revealed in his memoir how he experienced his first broken heart in secondary school when a colleague he thought of wooing to become his girlfriend left Ghana for South Africa without a hint.

As he described her in the book, she was pretty and sweet and he enjoyed her company a lot but he was cautious not to show too much affection, especially in school, because, as friends, they spent more time together at home, as they both visited each other.

He began to narrate how shocked he was:

“One day, during the holidays, I paid her a visit but she was absent. She hadn’t informed me she was traveling”.

Describing the circumstance, he said:

“I was crushed and disappointed. I felt a deep pain in my heart all through the holidays. I kept wondering why she didn’t tell me anything. Was it something I said or did? I had pondered over this for a while till I let the whole matter rest”.

He recalled his recent encounter with the said woman on social media:

“I didn’t hesitate to ask her why she did what she did. She was sorry she had left like that and didn’t know how to spill the beans. It wasn’t an easy time for her because she was going away from me. We had some good laughs about it in the end though”.

In chapter nine of the book titled ‘Marital Challenges and Imperfections’, he gave a narrative about how his conversations with some women led to the incidents.

The incidents led him to cheat on his wife multiple times with other ladies and he expressed gratitude to his wife Elom Anang and to God for forgiving him.

He wrote:

“I’m grateful for God and Elom’s forgiveness and the love that has kept us going strong through those dark times”.
