The subsequent flooding of the Akosombo Dam spillage has caused havoc to thousands of residents along the lower basin of River Volta.

Significant losses to homes and farms have been a resultant effect. Areas affected in the said region include Battor, Tefle, Mepe, Sogakope, Adidodme, and Anlo.

This decision, even though has destructive implications was ungodly necessary as the alternative option has a more dire outcome.

The devastation caused by the Akosombo Dam spillage is a result of a lack of proper coordination among agencies operating. The height of the dam is problematic and will certainly have a huge consequence should it develop any faults in the future, even though this exercise was done to maintain a stable water level in the Dam.
