Ghanaian musician, Kuami Eugene, has revealed that even though he now has his own record label, he is not welcoming other musicians.
According to him, Rockstar Records will only handle the affairs of the Kuami Eugene brand for the time being until he matures and gains a firm footing in the industry before he signs on other acts.
“The Kuami Eugene brand is a handful. Even as a single artist, it’s not been easy. So adding someone now, I don’t think it’s advisable. But maybe in the future, I will ask Richie if he thinks I should start signing people but I don’t think I will do it now. I have so much to do as Kuami Eugene, myself.”

He noted that before he ventures into signing other artists, he would have to fill bigger auditoriums and make greater exploits.
“I should do maybe a 20,000 capacity event, I should have my own Rockstar show and this is the first time I am coming up with ‘Let the Kids Come to Kuami Eugene’. I am doing all these things to cement myself in the music industry and if I get closer, I will start working with other people as well.”

Kuami Eugene further noted that even though some of his colleagues have approached him to sign them on to his record label, he declined.
The ‘Monica’ hitmaker revealed that they [colleagues] think he has a lot of studios, there is money to shoot something for them, has a connection, and has made some calls for people to play their songs for them, adding that “Sometimes when things go wrong, they think they can get results when they come to me.”
Asked how much he had gone with the structures of the label he replied “So much.”
“We even have reps in the UK and USA as well. I just signed my contract with Ditto Music and that one is under Rockstar Records.”

According to Kuami, Richie of Lynx Entertainment has given him permission to start his enterprise and he [Kuami] wants to break the jinx and narrative of artists’ careers taking a nosedive after parting ways with their managements or record labels.
In the meantime, Kuami is out with an all-star peace song and two other songs: ‘Problem’ and ‘Show-Down’.
Kwami Eugene Assures To Break Supposed ‘Lynx Jinx’
While a number of musicians who parted ways with Lynx Entertainment have had challenges with keeping a vibrant brand, Kuami Eugene intimates that he is looking forward to changing the narrative.
According to him, with all the knowledge he has gleaned from working with Lynx Entertainment boss, Richie Mensah, he is sure he will break the supposed ‘Lynx Jinx’.
Kuami Eugene indicated that after being with Richie for the past eight years, Richie has permitted him to establish his own record label.
“I’ve been in the same room producing with Richie multiple times so I’ve learned a lot; the production skills and he knows so much about this business, this showbiz business. He’s made a lot of people in this profession, this show business, so I am learning that bit from him as well.”

The artist thankfully stated that he is trying to be the first Lynx artist who will actually part ways with the label and won’t have everybody saying he is lost. “So I’m still under his wings and he’s teaching me so much,” he added.
Lynx has produced artists such as Asem, Ziggy, the late OJ Blaq, Eazzy, Irene Logan, and MzVee, among others.
