Mahama’s ORAL Team Unveils Public Platforms for Reporting Corruption

Team ORAL

In a decisive step toward combating corruption, the Anti-Corruption Preparatory Team of President-elect John Dramani Mahama has launched a series of interactive platforms to enable the public to securely report suspected acts of corruption.

This move marks a significant milestone in the President-elect’s commitment to fostering accountability and transparency in governance.

“Members of the public wishing to share any information on suspected acts of corruption can reach the team on the toll-free number 0800 900 111, its website, www.oralgh.org or via e-mail through public@oralgh.org.”

Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson Mahama Transition Team

These platforms are designed to ensure ease of access and confidentiality for whistleblowers.   In a press statement issued by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson for the Mahama Transition Team, the public was assured that any information shared would be handled with “utmost discretion” and processed expeditiously to ensure accountability.

The Anti-Corruption Preparatory Team is part of a broader strategy by the incoming administration to tackle corruption at all levels. By encouraging public participation in exposing corrupt practices, the team aims to establish a collaborative framework where every citizen plays a role in promoting integrity.

Many anti-corruption activists see this initiative as a response to growing public dissatisfaction with perceived inefficiencies and corruption in public office.

Mahama’s Fight Against Corruption

President-Elect Mahama has consistently underscored the need for robust systems to address corruption and strengthen institutional transparency.

The announcement has been met with widespread approval, with civil society organizations and anti-corruption advocates lauding the proactive stance.

However, the success of the initiative will depend on the team’s ability to act swiftly and decisively on reports.  While the importance of protecting whistleblowers from potential retaliation, is a concern that has historically undermined anti-corruption efforts in Ghana, the statement affirmed the team’s commitment to protecting any individuals who submit evidence of corruption.

President-elect Mahama’s anti-corruption preparatory team’s decision to establish these platforms ahead of his official inauguration signals his administration’s intent to prioritize ethical leadership.

By empowering citizens to hold public officials accountable, this initiative seeks to foster a culture of openness and zero tolerance for corruption.

The success of the Anti-Corruption Preparatory Team will depend not only on the effectiveness of its platforms but also on the willingness of Ghanaians to join hands in this transformative journey toward accountability and integrity.

For more information or to report suspected acts of corruption, citizens are encouraged to visit www.oralgh.org, call the toll-free number 0800 900 111, or send an email to public@oralgh.org.

The team, led by Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, MP for North Tongu, is tasked with gathering information from the public and other credible sources on suspected acts of corruption. It is expected to function as a vital instrument for accountability and justice.

Other members of the team include the former Auditor-Gneral, Daniel Yaw Domelovo, renowned investigative journalist, Raymond Archer, COP (Rtd) Nathaniel Kofi Boakye, and private legal practitioner, Lawyer Martin Kpebu as members.
