Nigerian music singer, Davido, is overjoyed as he celebrates his wife Chioma Rowland Adeleke’s 30th birthday.
The celebrity chef celebrated the milestone on April 30, 2025, with close family and friends in a pleasant, exclusive gathering organised by the Afrobeat phenomenon himself.
Clips circulating online caught the cozy atmosphere of the private gathering. Notably, Davido’s hype guy, Special Spesh, stated that this was the first time the ‘5IVE’ hitmaker had personally prepared such a celebration for someone.
Further into the evening, Davido paid glowing tribute to Chioma, comparing her generosity and courage to that of his late mother, Veronica Adeleke.
In his moving address, the Grammy-nominated performer commended Chioma as the first lady in his life who could fully accept and adore all of his children as if they were her own.
He also emphasised her humility, describing how she never hesitated to give food to anyone in their home, regardless of class, even if they were cleaners.
Another beautiful moment showed the twins’ mum spending a quiet time with her man. Davido lit the candles on a portable juicy birthday cake and gently asked Chioma to make a wish.
The celebrity chef whispered her wish and blew out the candles while friends and family cheered her on.

Davido on African Entertainment Changing Global Narratives
The award-winning Nigerian music star once again spotlighted the power of African culture and entertainment in changing global narratives about the continent.
Reflecting on his journey and Africa’s growing influence, Davido acknowledged the poor state of leadership across the continent but praised the unifying power of music, fashion, and entertainment. “Every successful person who has experienced success can’t explain the feeling,” he said.
The singer recounted early personal experiences of being misunderstood as an African student abroad and likened it to how Africans in the diaspora now highly rate their ancestry.
“I remember back then, I took a flight from Lagos to school, and my classmates asked if we had airports. But now people are trying to go back home and trace their ancestry and all. In December that just passed, there were more Americans than Nigerians in Lagos, bro. I was in Lagos for a week, and I just left a few days ago. I didn’t want to leave. Back then, we used to be so excited to go to America.
“It’s not just music, but the whole culture has put Africa on the map. If you go to the Paris Fashion Week, 80% of the models and creative directors are African. I’m happy that entertainment switched the narrative about Africa. We don’t have the best leaders and we have the worst government but our entertainment is it. Once that music plays, wow.”

Moreover, the Afrobeats artist said he doesn’t get enough credit for his impact on the Nigerian music industry.
He explained that despite being consistent in the music industry for years, people don’t give him his due credit. “I have been conquering the music industry for 15 years, but the crazy thing is that people don’t give me my flowers [credits] that I deserve,” he stated.
The host inferred that he believed that he had haters. Davido replied, “There are haters, but when I go everywhere, they love me, so I’m like, where are the haters?”
Despite his claims of not getting enough credit, Davido is one of the most-awarded artists, not only in Nigeria but in Africa.
