Azumah Resources Issues Disclaimer Against Bright Simons: “He Does Not Represent Us”

Mr. Bright Simons

Azumah Resources Ghana Limited has publicly disassociated itself from recent remarks made by policy analyst and social innovator Bright Simons regarding the company’s ongoing dispute with Engineers & Planners (E&P), a Ghanaian engineering and construction firm.

In a strongly worded disclaimer issued by its Board of Directors, Azumah Resources emphasized that Mr. Simons does not speak on behalf of the company or its shareholders, nor is he affiliated with the company in any capacity.

“Mr. Bright Simons does not represent, act on behalf of, or speak for the Shareholders or Directors of Azumah Resources Ghana in any capacity,” part of the statement read.

The disclaimer comes in response to mounting media speculation and public discourse surrounding a legal and commercial dispute between Azumah Resources and E&P. According to the company, Simons’ public commentary on the matter—though widely circulated—should be treated strictly as personal opinion.

Confidential Talks Underway with E&P

Azumah Resources also disclosed that it is currently engaged in confidential negotiations with Engineers & Planners, aimed at amicably resolving their impasse. These negotiations, the company said, are being carried out in good faith and under the watchful eye of regulatory and ministerial bodies.

“We remain committed to a professional, transparent, and responsible resolution of this matter,” Azumah Resources affirmed.

While the details of the disagreement have not been publicly disclosed, the company’s call for discretion indicates the sensitivity and complexity of the ongoing discussions.

Media Urged to Avoid Speculation

In light of the situation, Azumah Resources issued a plea to the media, industry analysts, and public commentators to exercise restraint and avoid speculation that could undermine the resolution process.

“We respectfully urge media houses, analysts, and third-party commentators to refrain from speculative reporting that may jeopardize the sensitive talks underway,” the company noted.

The firm stressed that all inquiries and reports concerning the dispute should be based only on statements from authorized spokespersons.

Clarification on ECOWAS Bank Involvement

In a related clarification, Azumah Resources addressed public commentary linking the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) to the ongoing matter. The company confirmed that EBID had expressed indicative interest in a transaction, but emphasized that the Bank’s involvement was still subject to internal approvals and should not be construed as finalized or binding.

“Any claims beyond that are inappropriate and unauthorised,” the statement added.

The company expressed regret over what it described as the “unwarranted inclusion” of EBID in public discourse, suggesting that such narratives may distort the actual status of the Bank’s involvement.

The statement by Azumah Resources appears to be a broader attempt to protect the integrity of its operations and the ongoing legal process. The company insists on a professional and lawful approach to conflict resolution, signaling its intent to shield the matter from undue public influence.

With tensions heightened by public commentary and media speculation, the company’s move to clarify its position signals the importance it places on transparency, legal propriety, and corporate responsibility.

As the dispute unfolds, all eyes will be on how Azumah Resources and Engineers & Planners navigate their differences and whether a mutually acceptable resolution can be reached without further public fallout.

For now, Azumah Resources has made its position unequivocally clear: Bright Simons speaks only for himself—and not for the company.
