Award-winning rapper Sarkodie joined hundreds of fans in Kumasi today for the Legacy Walk, a build-up to his highly anticipated Rapperholic Concert scheduled for September 27 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The walk has drawn people of all ages, many clad in Sarkodie-branded T-shirts and waving banners, as they chant and cheer in support of the artist.
For many, it is more than a fitness activity; it is a celebration of Sarkodie’s music journey and his deep connection with his fans.
The Rapperholic Concert, one of Ghana’s biggest annual music events, will mark the first time it takes place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, and anticipation is already running high.
Shatta Wale Shocks Critics by Supporting Sarkodie’s Rapperholic Concert

Sarkodie revealed that Dancehall King, Shatta Wale, has voluntarily reached out to support this year’s Rapperholic concert, putting to rest rumours of tension between the two.
This year’s Rapperholic concert which has always had a home in the nation’s capital Accra, will for the first time take place in the Ashanti Region.
The multiple award-winning rapper said, “I often find it difficult asking my colleagues in the industry for help in situations like this.”
“Normally, I expect some of them to reach out to me and ask how they can contribute to the annual concert, which I stage to reward my fans with back-to-back music from my rich catalog.”

He went on to highlight the support he has received from some industry peers.

The rapper also spoke fondly about his relationship with Shatta Wale, clarifying that their online feud is nothing serious. “These so-called beefs are necessary to invigorate the entertainment landscape,” he explained.
“Shatta Wale has always been my brother, and when we come together on the night of the Rapperholic concert, expect nothing less than fireworks.”

His statement provides a glimpse into the dynamics behind Ghana’s music scene and reinforce the excitement building around what promises to be a memorable night for fans.
Meanwhile, the rapper opened up about the difficulties of preparing for his annual Rapperholic concerts, explaining that deciding which songs to perform is a major challenge.
With a massive catalog of hits accumulated over the years, the rapper finds it impossible to satisfy every fan in one night.
Sarkodie Recounts First Encounter with Ballon d’Or Winner Dembele

The Ghanaian rapper shared details of his encounter with 2025 Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele.
Dembele, 28, clinched his first Ballon d’Or after edging Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal, PSG teammate Vitinha, and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, becoming the second French player in four years to win the prize after Karim Benzema’s 2022 success.
Dembele also became just the second PSG player after Lionel Messi in 2021 to lift the coveted golden trophy, reaching a career peak that once seemed out of reach during his injury-plagued spell at Barcelona.
The former Borussia Dortmund star was pivotal in PSG’s historic Champions League triumph last season, producing 14 goal contributions in 15 games, eight goals and six assists while directly influencing every match from the round of 16 second leg onwards.
But before his crowning moment on Monday night, Sarkodie revealed he first met Dembele during a visit to New York in 2022, thanks to his close friend Memphis Depay.
At the time, Sarkodie admitted he didn’t know much about the French winger but took time to learn about him after Depay’s introduction.
Following Dembele’s historic Ballon d’Or win, Sarkodie described the PSG star as “down-to-earth” and disclosed that he intends to personally call and congratulate him on the achievement.
“My friend is Memphis. I have even made a song with him which is yet to be released so I was meeting him in New York and that was when I met Dembele. That was the only time we met.”

Dembele and Memphis Depay, who were teammates at Barcelona, spent the summer of 2022 together in New York.
Sarkodie is currently in Kumasi preparing for his much-anticipated Rapperholic Homecoming concert.
This will be the first time the experience, which has occurred in Accra for the past ten years and over, is happening in Kumasi.
Medikal, Kweku Smoke, Strongman and OlivetheBoy have already been announced as headliners for the show.
