Popular Ghanaian artist Sarkodie held his 2025 Rapperholic concert in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, on Saturday, September 27, 2025.

Several artists, including veteran Ghanaian rapper Obrafour, joined Sarkodie to perform on stage to make the concert a success.

In a video on X, the two musicians were on stage singing Obrafour’s ‘odo’ when the rapper knelt to show his deep appreciation and respect to the veteran rapper.

He did not stand up but rather hugged Obrafour while still kneeling. Obrafour helped Sarkodie to rise to his feet and hugged him again.

When he got up, Sarkodie said: “Thank you, Godfather.”

Netizens reacted to the rapper’s appreciation of Obrafour.

“Do this in church, and they will tell you that you’re worshipping your spiritual father and pastor. But here it is called ‘a show of deep appreciation’ 🤣🤣🤣.”

@Gidiman00

“Forget about the fact that he crowned Sarkodie, just listen to the verses he gives him. @sarkodie’s best songs are the ones with Obrafour, in my opinion. He made me love Twi singing 😅 Obrafour is the main GOAT.”

@rahmanzeeba6

“It’s important to remember that Sarkodie was crowned King of Rap by Obrafour… The rest is history.”

@theinffluencer

“I love ❤️ people who show appreciation even if they make it more than you.”

@fawogyimiiko_

“I now see that when we talk, Sarkodie listens to us. This is what I wanted to see. Very heartwarming. Two greatest legends. 😍🌟.”

Meanwhile, when the show was about heating up, the rain disrupted the event.

Fans at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium were left scrambling for shelter as rain pelted them ahead of the programme.

Even with that, fans continued to stay until the rain stopped and the show continued till Sunday morning.

Sarkodie expressed appreciation to the fans and promising another event in Kumasi next year.

One of the highlights of the 2025 Rapperholic concert in Kumasi was when famous dancehall artist, Shatta Wale, joined King Sark on stage to perform for the audience.

In a Facebook video, Sarkodie and Shatta Wale wowed the crowd with their songs and raps.

The two top musicians playfully pushed each other when Shatta joined Sark on stage and then started laughing.

They sang some songs together to show their admiration for each other and brotherliness. At one point, it looked like Shatta Wale had forgotten the lyrics of the song they were singing, but the rapper kept singing to cover up.

Despite the rain that tried to mar the concert, the concert was well patronised by fans.

Videos showed people standing in the rain and vowing to stay on no matter the weather conditions.

Other artists who performed at the Rapperholic concert include Kofi Kinaata, Medikal and Obrafour, among others.

Netizens reacted to Sarkodie and Shatta Wale’s performance.

Michael Sarfo-Kantanka said: “Why do they have so many people on stage, taking away the beauty of the performance?”

Darling Fii said: “Bravo…this is what the industry needs to project GH.”

Frank Quajo Quavo wrote: “I can see Shatta Wale doesn’t remember those two songs’ lyrics.”

Proph Cosmos Ofosu said: “This is what I’ve been waiting for, Shatta Wale and Sarkodie on the same stage, love this 💕🙏.”

Lingiss Opoku wrote: “My ladies and gentlemen in Ghana, God bless everyone who attended.”

Abubakar Kassim said: “I’m really excited to witness the great giants of Africa 🌍, much love 💕💕💕💕💕💕.”

Kat Afia Abe wrote: “Guys, tell me this is not nice, but one person is missing in this. Can someone tell me that person 😄😄😄😄.”
