Hiplife artist Kwaw Kese has explained the reason he is rarely seen performing at other artists’ shows or making appearances at entertainment events.

The rapper said his absence from such gatherings is deliberate, noting that the Ghanaian entertainment industry is filled with people who pretend to show love but act differently behind closed doors.

Kwaw Kese shared that he once organized his concert and invited several artists he had supported on numerous occasions to come and show up for him.

According to him, none of them attended. To his surprise, the same night, “there was another show somewhere, a Gen Z was having a show, and they showed up for the Gen Z.”

He said that incident reinforced his belief that the industry is filled with hypocrisy and fake relationships.

According to him, many artists and industry players act friendly in public but harbour negative feelings in private.

He mentioned that he prefers to stay away from such circles because he is not someone who hides behind fake smile or pretends to be at peace with people he has issues with.

Kwaw Kese Calls Shatta Wale a Disrespectful Child

The artist described Shatta Wale as a disrespectful kid.

According to him, the artist hasn’t been of good behavior and needs to be called to order. “Shatta Wale is a disrespectful child. He has insulted every voice in the industry including Despite,” he said.

To him, it is worrying that Shatta Wale has insulted colleagues in the industry but always beg to be on their shows.

“Shatta Wale insulted Sarkodie and later begged to be on his show. Even if they have sorted out their differences, for me I believe you should not forget your past. If he has sorted out their differences, he should come to the public and let everyone know.”

He added that “you can’t keep insulting people in the name of showbiz. That should not be acceptable”.

The musician also disclosed that sometimes he thinks of giving up on music. According to him, the decision has not seen the light of day because he loves what he does.

What keeps him in the game according to him, is the fact that the fans keep calling and asking for more.

He explained that it is for this reason he does not produce many songs like he used to. “The comments and the calls from the fans who ask for more is what keep me in the game,” he said adding that “the music is in me an so anytime I decide I come back to give more”.

Kwaw Kese on Influence in Music Industry

Kwaw Kese revealed that his influece and contribution to the music industry remains incomparable.

He mentioned that he brought ‘streetism’ which is the energy of the street in the Ghanaian music space.

According to Kwaw Kese, while many genres have emerged and faded, his legacy in the industry remains firm.

“There has been change in genres. I remember those times, people switched to kpanlongo, then Appiatus style and Azonto came. All these music have come and gone but Abodam music, when you drop Kwaw Kese from 20 years ago, it’s still banging.”

The ‘Abodam’ hitmaker shared that contribution to the industry is so significant that no one can write him off, despite the changes in musical trends over the years. “My contribution is large and the one who brought streetism to the music industry,” he added.

Kwaw Kese is well known for his hit album ‘Abodam’ 2007, for which he won five awards at the 2008 edition of the Ghana Music Awards. He is known for doing crazy- like acts during his performance on stage.
