Management of Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital has firmly rejected social media allegations of staff negligence following the death of a motorcycle rider, Emmanuel Abaidoo, who was admitted to the hospital’s Accident and Emergency Unit on Monday, 14th September 2026, insisting that the claims circulating online are unfounded.
The hospital’s Management said it had noted with grave concern several social media posts alleging negligence surrounding the patient’s death, prompting a detailed response aimed at correcting what it described as false and defamatory claims against its medical staff.
According to the hospital, the circulated social media posts made three specific allegations, that the Emergency Unit deliberately neglected the patient due to bias against motor riders, that relatives were told no oxygen was available despite the hospital generating its own supply, and that no medical doctor attended to the patient throughout his stay prior to his passing.
Before addressing the specific allegations, Management extended condolences and sincere empathy to the bereaved family and friends of the deceased, acknowledging the difficulty of the moment even as it moved to firmly reject the claims being circulated.

Addressing perhaps the most technically specific allegation, that relatives had been informed no oxygen was available, the hospital categorically denied any shortage of medical oxygen at the facility.
Management explained that its Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) oxygen plant remains fully operational, continuing to generate a continuous and uninterrupted oxygen supply for the hospital.
