Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has been elected National Chairman of the party after securing 2,888 votes at the National Delegates Conference in Kumasi. The result places Mr Boadu at the head of the party’s new Chairman following the elections held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
John Boadu defeated Boakye Kyeremanten Agyarko, who polled 2,408 votes, while Paul Afoko and Samuel Adofo recorded 790 and 41 votes respectively. The Electoral Commission subsequently declared Mr Boadu elected after announcing the final figures from the chairmanship contest.

Meanwhile, the Vice Chairperson race produced three elected officers from a field of 13 candidates. Kojo Fosu Boadu emerged First Vice Chairperson, Henry Nana Boakye took the Second Vice Chairperson position and Nana Akomea secured the Third Vice Chairperson slot.
Kojo Fosu Boadu recorded 3,116 votes to lead the three successful candidates. Henry Nana Boakye followed with 3,061 votes, while Nana Akomea secured 2,987 votes to complete the elected trio.

Mustapha Abdul-Hamid came close with 2,956 votes, while Yaa Amponsah Frimpong obtained 1,503 votes. Richard Ahiagbah polled 1,001 votes, followed by Alhaji Masawudu Osman with 890 votes.
Other candidates included George Kwabena Abankwah-Yeboah with 247 votes, Richard Oti Aboagye with 152, Abena Pokuaa Amoah-Boahene with 194, Nana Horma Miezah Akesi with 232, Samuel Pyne with 206 and Bright Asifie Kumi with 51 votes.
Justin Kodua Retains NPP General Secretary Position With 4,486 Votes
Justin Frimpong Kodua also retained the position of General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), securing 4,486 votes to defeat his three challengers at the party’s National Delegates Conference. The result gives Mr Kodua another mandate to oversee the party’s national administration as the NPP prepares for the next phase of its political activities.
Mr Kodua recorded a commanding lead over his closest challengers, with Sylvester Tetteh polling 1,340 votes. Eugene Boakye Antwi secured 162 votes, while Dr Charles Dwamena obtained 129 votes in the contest.

The National Organiser race also produced a decisive result, with Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover securing 2,964 votes to emerge victorious. He finished ahead of Ali Maiga Halidu, who obtained 2,231 votes.
Kwame Prempeh polled 445 votes, while Emmanuel Korsi Bodja secured 145 votes. Seth Agyei Yeboah recorded 137 votes, Daniel Agyenim Boateng obtained 105 and Archibald Korletey Gamor secured 85 votes.
NPP Elects New Leaders For Treasurer, Youth, Women and Nasara Wings
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) also elected Alfred Kojo Thompson as National Treasurer after he secured 2,243 votes in the party’s national executive elections. Dr Thompson emerged ahead of Issahaku Moomin Tahiru, who obtained 1,605 votes, while Collins Nuntwiri Nuamah polled 1,582 votes and Hajia Ruka Saida Ahmed recorded 687 votes.
The National Youth Organiser contest was won by Abanga Fuseini Yakubu, who polled 1,550 votes according to the Electoral Commission announcement. Clement Opoku Gyamfi followed with 631 votes, while Vera Osei-Prampeh Lartey secured 44 votes, Prince Lloyd Asamoah obtained 46 and Michael Osei Boateng recorded 78 votes.
Alfred Ababio Kumi received 25 votes in the contest. The result gives Abanga Fuseini Yakubu responsibility for leading the party’s youth organisation as the NPP develops its strategy for the years ahead.
The Women’s Organiser position also produced a clear winner, with Mavis Hawa Koomson securing 783 votes. She defeated Hajia Safia Mohammed, who polled 429 votes, to take charge of the NPP’s Women’s Wing.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Ali Suraj emerged National Nasara Organiser after obtaining 372 votes in the three-way contest. Salim Mansuru Bamba polled 311 votes, while Awal Mohammed received 106 votes.
The Nasara result gives Mohammed Ali Suraj responsibility for the party’s Nasara wing, which focuses on the inclusion and mobilisation of Muslim communities within the NPP. His victory completes the leadership changes across the party’s special organisational wings.
Dennis Edward Miracles Aboagye also secured the National Communications Director position unopposed. He joins the newly elected national executives who will be responsible for communicating the party’s positions and coordinating its public messaging.
