A gearhead Sheikh has built the world’s biggest Hummer H1, with stairs, a toilet with a sink and a guest space with a 360-degree view spread out over two storeys.
The colossus vehicle boasts a height of 21.6ft (6.6m), a length of 46ft (14m), and a width of 20ft (6m), and it is fully drivable.
Dubbed the Hummer H1 X3, the incredible monster truck was commissioned by Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, also known as Rainbow Sheikh, a billionaire member of the Emirati royal family.
The monster truck is currently at Hamad’s Sharjah Off-Road History Museum in the UAE. Members of the public were left picking up their jaws from the floor when the H1 X3 was driven to the Sharjah Off-Road History Museum on public roads, according to some reports.
A small army of workers helped guide and maneuver the giant contraption down the long highways of the United Arab Emirates on its journey to the Sharjah Off-Road History Museum, which was slow going at a top speed of just 20 mile per hour, some sources revealed.
Built on the frame of U.S Army LARC-LX steel-hulled amphibious cargo vehicle, the vehicle runs with four diesel engines, one for each wheel. The museum boasts that the enormous car is “three times bigger than a normal Hummer H1 by scale and 27 times by volume”.
“The gargantuan interior is spread over two floors, both of which are still being worked on, but they are slated to contain a bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom,” the museum revealed.
The first floor currently has stairs, a toilet, a sink, and wooden flooring. The second features a majlis (a private place where house guests and friends are received and entertained) with a 360-degree view. The steering cabin is also found on the second floor.
The Hummer H1 X3 will be the latest addition to the Sharjah Off-Road History Museum, which is situated 30km north of Dubai.
The Bigger the Better- Sheikh Hamad
The Sheikh, who holds the Guinness World record for the largest collection of 4×4 vehicles, is a billionaire with major influence in the UAE’s capital and is well-known for his eccentric spending habits on automotive. He has spent recent years amassing more and more rare and esoteric vehicles. According to Business Insider, he has several vintage Mini Coopers, what appears to be a replica of an 1885 Benz Patent Motorwagen, which is widely considered the first-ever car, and the only SUV Lamborghini has made.
Hamad’s net worth is estimated at $20 billion with a castle as his home. According to sources, his money pile comes from his family’s control over Abu Dhabi’s oil deposits, which comprise 95% of the UAE’s oil.
His oddball projects also extend beyond road and track. He made news across the world in 2011 when he reportedly had workmen carve his name into his private island in the UAE, Al Futaisi, forming waterways in the sand. The Atlantic magazine confirmed that the name’s enormous letters were actually visible from space. Apparently, Hamad shares Texans’ belief in making everything bigger.
