A teenager, who grew a hairy tail, has vowed not to keep it hidden anymore after a priest claimed he was a reincarnation of a god and he went viral on TikTok.

Per reports, Deshant Adhikari was at first ashamed of the 70cm long attachment extending from his coccyx and hid it from the outside world. As a youngster, his parents took him to several hospitals at home in Nepal and abroad to find treatment. In desperation they saw a local priest who suggested Deshant was the “reincarnation of a god”, leading them to feel happier about the tail.

After going viral on social media, thanks to his unusual condition, Deshant disclosed that he is now completely comfortable showing it to the world. Sharing his story in an interview, Deshant said: “My parents now show the tail and I agreed. Now I don’t feel any discomfort showing it. A video of me went viral on TikTok and now a lot of people know me as the boy with a tail, and I feel good about it”.

Filmmaker, Puskar Nepal, who interviewed Deshant and filmed his bizarre tail, said: “His parents didn’t know about his condition until they took him home from hospital five days after he was born. They took him to different local hospitals and even abroad seeking the proper treatment, but no effort could stop the tail from growing.

“Later they consulted the priests and they were told not to comb or use any tool to cut the tail. The priests even pointed out that the boy might possess some supernatural power as he might be the reincarnation of Lord Hanuman, the God of monkeys. They let the tail grow naturally thereafter and stopped looking for a treatment,” Puskar Nepal disclosed.

Other Mysterious Medical Conditions in Nepal

In Nepal, where Deshant is from, there have been some bizarre stories of medical mysteries.

In 2010, Khagendra Thapa Magar, from Nepal, who stood just 67.08cm (2ft 2.41in) tall set a Guinness World Record on his 17th birthday . Officially listed as the world’s shortest mobile man, he was so small when he was born that he fit in the palm of his father’s hand.

Unfortunately, in 2020, the world’s shortest man who could walk died aged just 27, after battling a number of health conditions. Khagendra struggled with heart problems, asthma, and pneumonia, and he died at a hospital in Nepal a day after he was admitted, the Guinness World Records reported.

His father, Roop Bahadur recalled: “He was so tiny when he was born that he could fit in the palm of your hand, and it was very hard to bathe him because he was so small”.

After gaining fame through the World Record, Khagendra traveled around the world making appearances on TV and in public and became a tourism ambassador for his homeland. Soon, Deshant could take over the ambassadorial role as his rare condition keeps making him famous.
