President Nana Akuffo-Addo has said that he has no problem if residents of Afigya Kwabre East choose to vote against his New Patriotic Party in the 2024 election.
Speaking in an interview on Otec Fm on the second Day of his tour in the Ashanti Region, President stated that he is not frightened by the threats of the constituents to vote out his party, as such threats does have an impact on him.
According to him, although people support a party with expectations, he however does not see the need to threaten the government when they fail to deliver.
“When people make such treats, it doesn’t frighten me.I have no problem if they choose to vote against my party, because someone choose to vote or support you because they want something from you. If you decide to vote for the NDC in the upcoming elections, it’s your choice and am not bothered.”

His Excellency mentioned that he resides in the country and is aware of the current hardship in the nation, therefore he is working tirelessly with his appointees to make things better.
He further indicated that, he has been mandated to take responsibility to construct roads and he will surely do that.
This follows recent threats by the residents of Afigya Kwabre East Constituency as they lamented over the poor condition of various road networks in the community which is affecting their businesses.
No Need For A Reshuffle
The President stated that he does not see the need to change any appointee if they are doing well in their various sector. He added that, it is not everything the citizens say that he needs to follow.
He indicated that he does not see the need to sack or reshuffle the Finance Minister, Hon Ken Ofori Atta as he still sees him capable of improving the economy and making things better in his sector.
He further said that, the Agricultural, Finance and Road Ministers are doing well in their various fields and does not have any basis to sack or change them.
“Why should I change them, what will be the basis and rational? I had an excellent first term and he (Finance Minister) was part of this successful journey. I still have some senior ministers in my second term of office, if they didn’t do well in my first time of office, I wouldn’t have retained them”

The President expressed optimism that the economy would improve before his tenure ends, saying that he hoped the IMFs assistance would be completed by November so that it could be added to the budget.
