Women in Mining Ghana (WIM Ghana) has disclosed that it will hold its first-ever Ghana annual conference on Friday, 9th June, 2023 at the Accra International Conference Centre.

According to Women in Mining Ghana, the objective of the conference is to bring together diverse industry stakeholders, and other leading figures in the mining sector.

This event offers a timely opportunity to celebrate women in the mining industry who have challenged the norms, broken barriers, and paved the way for future generations. It’s on the theme: ‘Future-fit responsible mining – the female factor.’

Organised with the objective of encouraging interactive discussions on a variety of subjects impacting females in the Mining Industry, this event aims to offer extensive networking opportunities as it will bring together a wide variety of Mining professionals, students and other players from different sectors of the economy.

About the Conference

WIM Ghana has an exciting line-up of top local and internationally recognised professional women and men, who have achieved great success in their careers.

The personalities will be sharing key insights into the role of gender diversity and inclusion in driving sustainable growth in the Mining sector. They will be expected to highlight valuable learnings on how to overcome obstacles and achieve success in participants’ respective careers.

These distinguished personalities will also share with the participants examples of businesses who have achieved success, by empowering women and have worked to promote gender diversity and inclusion in their organisational strategies.

Indeed, as the theme suggests, this event is dedicated to knowledge-sharing and the dissemination of innovation to enhance the work of females in the Mining Industry, WIM Ghana suggested.

“We intend for this maiden Annual Conference to bring into perspective the contribution of women in promoting responsible and sustainable mining practices at various levels in the Mining Industry.”

The event has been designed to call for increased efforts to promote women’s participation and leadership in the sector.
