Blakk Cedi, the former manager of dancehall musician Stonebwoy, has lauded Shatta Wale following their recent trip to Jamaica.
The SM boss was among several high-profile dancehall musicians who mounted the stage and delivered thrilling performances during Vybz Kartel’s Freedom Street Concert at the Jamaica National Stadium on Tuesday, December 31, 2024.
Among Shatta Wale’s entourage at the high-profile concert was the music executive Blakk Cedi.
Blakk Cedi worked with his rival Stonebwoy in a managerial capacity before their public fallout in 2019, which led to his sacking.
In a viral video, Blakk Cedi was spotted prepping Shatta Wale moments before he mounted the stage to meet Vybz Kartel and perform his songs.
Following the conclusion of the Freedom Street concert in Jamaica, Blakk Cedi took to his official Instagram page to express his gratitude to Shatta Wale for their collaboration throughout the massive concert.
In a lengthy, heartfelt letter, the former manager said the SM boss handpicked him to serve as part of his contingent for Vybz Kartel’s star-studded musical event.
Blakk Cedi noted that he was inspired by Shatta Wale’s artistry and felt humbled by the unwavering respect, trust, and love he showed him on the trip to Jamaica. “The warmth you extended made every step seamless, and it reinforced why you are so deeply admired by many,” he added.

Shatta Wale Speaks About The Jamaican Dream
Dancehall musician, Shatta Wale opened up about his dream of performing on the same stage as Jamaican dancehall legend, Vybz Kartel in Jamaica.
During a TikTok Live session with 5Five member PapiTheKing and a few other fans, Shatta Wale spoke about his recent performance with Vybz Kartel in Jamaica.
In the screen-recorded video circulating on social media, Shatta Wale noted that it had always been his dream to perform with the ‘Quick Quick Quick’ crooner on the same stage and in Jamaica.
In the live video, the dancehall musician shared some motivational words as he encouraged all the viewers of TikTok Live to dream.
“I told myself that before I will go to Jamaica, the first day I will perform in Jamaica, I will perform with Vybz Kartel. It took me 20 years.”

Explaining why it took him that long to perform with Vybz Kartel, Shatta Wale noted that it was due to his arrest and jail time. He said that he had to wait for 13 years for Vybz Kartel’s release.
Many people in the comments section hailed Shatta Wale as the Don and noted that he was on the top of the world after his exceptional performance in Jamaica.
Others also spoke about his dreams becoming a reality after he spoke them into existence some years back about wanting to perform with the Jamaican legend.
