Burna Boy was one of the stars who performed at the Le Gala des Pièces Jaunes 2025, in a charity event held at Paris La Défense Arena on January 23, 2025.

The Afrobeats star took the stage at the Gala Des Pièces Jaunes event, where he performed a selection of his viral hits to an enthusiastic crowd of mainly Caucasian fans.

Videos from the jam-packed show at the 40,000-capacity venue captured the electrifying atmosphere as fans cheered and danced along to Burna Boy’s performance.

Backstage, Burna Boy was seen chatting with American singer John Legend, adding another exciting moment to the night.

For its third edition, the gala featured a stellar lineup of international stars, including Katy Perry, Gims, John Legend, Rosé, J-Hope, G-Dragon, and more.

The Arena is a familiar ground for the Nigerian Grammy winner who has previously sold out the 40,00 capacity Arena.

At the sold-out charity concert, Burna Boy dazzled the audience with a rendition of some of the hit singles that have aided his ascension to global stardom.

As one of the most streamed and celebrated artists in 2024, the performance not only highlights his achievements but also shines a spotlight on the rich musical heritage of Africa.

2025 has gotten to an eventful start for the superstar who recently earned a nomination for the iHeartradio Music Awards.

Burna Boy will be aiming to pick up his second Grammy Award in February where he will be competing alongside other Nigerian superstars in the Best African Music Performance category.

While Burna Boy only released a handful of songs in 2024, he still enjoyed a huge year as he was declared the most exported Nigerian artist on Spotify.

He wrapped up last year with the release of his single ‘Bundle By Bundle’ which sets the tone for what is expected to be a busy 2025.

The single which follows his earlier release ‘Higher’ will precede his upcoming album, ‘No Sign of Weakness’ scheduled for release later in the year.

Burna Boy’s Mum Links Up With French President

Amidst the reactions that trailed Burna Boy’s ecstatic performance at the Le Defense Arena in Paris, a clip of the singer’s mum, Bose Ogulu having a conservation with the French President, Emmanuel Macron went viral.

Recall that some of Nigeria’s Afrobeats stars, like Victony, Davido, Omah Lay, and Rema, were spotted in Paris. Although Davido was slammed over his choice of outfit, many still lauded him for being carefree.

In one of the videos circulating social media, Mama Burna and her child, Damini, were spotted.

In the next cut, Burna Boy’s mum and the President were spotted having what looked like a great conversation as they were all smiles at the Le Gala des Pièces in Paris.

The next clip showed Bose Ogulu taking a picture with the top dignitaries. The video circulated in cyberspace, and netizens hailed Burna Boy’s mum for being well-connected while living her best life.

It can be recalled that Mama Burna’s son and Nigerian rapper Akpi have been at loggerheads ever since the rapper allegedly made some derogatory comments about him and his career, resulting in his arrest.

Speed Darlington and Burna Boy

Although he was recently released after two months, Speed Darlington has now demanded N300 million in compensation for his fight for his human rights.

However, the case was postponed until January 27th after the IGP’s attorney asked for more time to analyze new evidence.

Moreover, breaking silence after his release, Darlington ignored Burna Boy’s warning and shared a striking video of two rams locked in a fierce battle with their horns crashing against each other.

Captioning the trending clip on his Instagram page, he said “I’m back. To those fighting, one step back, it is not running away, he went to gather energy and launch back with a banger!”
