The Grammy-award-winning singer-songwriter released his fifth studio album, ‘Twice As Tall’, on Thursday, August 13, 2020, ahead of his performance on ‘The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon’. The 15-track album was produced by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, Bosede Ogulu, and Burna Boy himself with features from Youssou N’dour, Naughty By Nature, Kenyan band Sauti Sol, Stormzy, and Coldplay’s Chris Martin. It sees songs such as ‘Level Up’, ‘Alarm Clock’, ‘Onyeka and Way too Big’- which are hits off the album, ‘No fit vex’, among others.
It is worth noting that his ‘Twice as tall’ album landed him the much-coveted Grammy award. He won the ‘Best world album’ category. Also, the same album made him the first artist to ever reach 100 million streams on Boomplay. It can be recalled that just 24 hours of its release on the music streaming app, the album amassed one million streams, and after a few months, it hit 100 million streams.
Meanwhile just last month, Burna Boy hinted at releasing an album. He gave a hint to his fans that his upcoming album will be released in August 2021. The ‘Ye’ crooner made the revelation while responding to a fan who asked “Are we having an album this year?”
Burna Boy in response to that question answered: “Same time as last year. No worry”. However, he quickly deleted the tweet. It’s assumed that maybe, he feels it’s too early to announce the release of his album.
