Ghanaian gospel singer, Cecilia Marfo

Ghanaian gospel singer, Cecilia Marfo is currently topping trends on social media because of an 18 seconds video which she struggled to pronounce her lines correctly in an attempt to render her heartfelt gratitude to God in a worship session.

In the video, the musician was heard singing some worship renditions and how she mentioned the words in the song has really gotten Ghanaians amused. However, it is to be noted that Cecilia Marfo has never had any formal education, therefore should be pardoned for distorting certain English words.

Truly, it is a natural phenomenon to mispronounce certain words when singing, however, Ghanaians who take things lightly are currently trolling Cecilia because of her continuous blunder when it comes to singing in English. Now, what was supposed to be a morning devotional elevation time, has now turned to an amusement and trolling session.

@Afua who was amazed by the video noted: “it’s time we addressed this Cecilia Marfo’s issue. Has her lyrics always been like this or she’s just doing this for us to release stress?”

@Twilight wrote: “Ghana is hard. So Shatta Wale and Cecilia Marfo have stooped being musicians and are now professional comedians. Wonders!

Cecilia Marfo is clearly a case of “beautiful disaster” because, aside from all the comedy and flaws of her current video, she is one of the numerous gospel musicians who has fascinated Ghanaians. She is actually renowned for her unique, deep, and rich melodious voice, which gives her songs the ideal oomph.

The talented gospel artiste was born on November 10, 1978, in Kumasi in a town called Bompata in the Asafo Nfante Newtown area. She is currently 43 years old and still full of energy like she was some years ago when she came into the limelight. Cecilia is believed to have been a staunch Christian from a tender age, taking part in church activities mostly singing.

Cecilia became a sensation after Esther Smith discovered her when she was innocently singing in church and was recommended to a music producer. This was the beginning of a great career in the music industry, an ideal stepping stone for her future success.

Cybex Music Production took great interest in Celia and decided to invest in her talent. Once she signed with the studio, Cecilia Marfo released an album that included songs like ‘Faithfulness’ and her major hit ‘Afunumu’.

Celia’s stature in the Ghanaian gospel industry is quite impressive as she has won numerous awards for her songs.

It can be recalled that in the prestigious Ghana Music Awards that is organized by Chatter house, Cecilia managed to bag various awards. The organizers awarded her the ‘Gospel Song of the Year’, ‘Gospel Album of the Year’, and ‘Song Writer of the Year’ in 2011.

Cecilia Marfo’s strong Christian beliefs and faith have transformed her into an Evangelist and Prophetess of God and. She has a worshipping centre, Osoriefie Worship Centre that is located off Tema Akosombo, Afienya Mataheko first bus stop.
