Ghanaian socialite and model Efia Odo has broken her silence on her recent controversial exit from Eats Avenue.
Efia Odo shared that she developed a friendship with the co-owner of Eats Avenue, Mr. Kwabena Sarpong, in 2017 after they first met through a mutual friend.
She said that Mr. Kwabena Sarpong, a real estate mogul, approached her with the idea of starting Eats Avenue after recognizing her interest in cooking.
Efia Odo explained that after several discussions, she agreed to partner with the Ridge Condos CEO to set up the restaurant and become its co-owner.
She noted that Mr. Kwabena Sarpong gave her an apartment in the same building as the restaurant so that she could easily oversee the business’s daily operations.
The socialite was fully dedicated to the restaurant and involved in every department as a co-owner, shareholder, and manager until fake rumours behind the scenes forced her to leave. Efia said that some naysayers and mischievous individuals created fake dating rumours between her and her business partner.
She noted that the rumours angered her because she greatly respected Mr. Sarpong, whom she saw as an uncle, and never considered having an affair with him. The socialite said the fake rumours also affected some of her romantic relationships.
“Mr. Sarpong started hearing the rumours about the whole fake relationship. We were very platonic and I saw him as an uncle but the rumours and hearsay were some of the factors that ended up to where we are now. That is why I had to take myself out of the equation physically with Eats Avenue and say that I am no longer affiliated with them because there was too much going on.”

Efia Odo added that she felt hurt that people thought she was only involved in the business because of an affair with the co-owner and not because of her hard work and contributions.
She also addressed the rumour that among the most prominent claims was an allegation that the restaurant owner had caught her in a compromising situation with Medikal’s manager, Kofi Jam. Efia Odo has firmly denied these accusations.
The model clarified the situation, confirming that while Kofi Jam had visited the restaurant, no inappropriate behaviour occurred between them.
Efia Odo explained that her friendly and sociable nature is often misinterpreted as flirtation, leading to misconceptions about her behaviour.
“I am someone who welcomes everyone. I am very hospitable and sociable. I will flirt with my customers because the more I flirt, the more money comes. I do it to both males and females just to let them know that I am a welcoming person.”

Socialite Apologizes Over ‘Eat at Your Own Risk’ Tweet
Efia Odo admitted that her tweet following her resignation from Eats Avenue was impulsive and regrettable.
She explained that her comment stemmed from anger over negative feedback about her.
“‘Eat at your own risk’ meant now I’m not there. Obviously, I moved with emotions, it is something I shouldn’t have tweeted. As you said, people who are going there because of me will now say, ‘Efia Odo says to eat at your own risk, what is she trying to say?’ Obviously, that is something I shouldn’t have done.”

Reflecting on her actions, she admitted that her tweet was childish.
“Looking back at it now, it was very childish of me, but it was more like, ‘I am not there, and if anything happens, it’s your own risk.’ Let’s say you get the wrong order. Normally, people are coming to me in my DMs because I am doing a lot of the PR, so it was more of, ‘If you have problems, don’t come to me.’”

Efia also addressed issues regarding her interactions with customers at the restaurant: “I’m sociable with customers and enjoy flirting, which often leads to them spending more.”
