Fameye shared that he had worked hard during the year under review and deserved to be nominated for the 2025 TGMAs Artiste of the Year award.
The ‘Very Soon’ hitmaker said he felt he was not ready for a nomination for the top award at the award scheme in the past.
“I have really worked hard. In the past, I told people I didn’t deserve to be nominated for the Artiste of the Year award whenever they enquired. I deserve to be nominated now.”

The ‘Nothing I Get’ hitmaker noted that he was working on other music projects that would make him a strong candidate for the Artiste of the Year award nomination at the TGMAs.
The singer added that despite the popularity of his ‘Very Soon’ song, which has topped multiple charts and amassed a million views on YouTube in less than two months, it has not yet reached the level he expects.
Fameye’s remarks about a possible Artiste Of the Year nomination at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs) triggered many reactions.
He thanked his fans, who he says have been crucial to his development as an artist over the years, appreciating what they do for him both online and offline.
He also highlighted plans of dropping a new album, which would probably be early next year.
Fameye has had a remarkable year, dropping back-to-back hits including ‘Sober’, ‘June July’, ‘Dr Likee’, and many more.
In other news, the Highlife/Hiplife artiste described rapper, Sarkodie as the biggest artiste in Africa at the moment.
He talked about his impact on the continent’s music industry and his career achievements, which is why he crowns him with this accolade.
Fameye indicated that Sarkodie has worked so hard to build a brand for himself and also pave the way for the younger generation. “Putting everything aside, I think Sarkodie is the biggest artiste in Africa. He has worked so hard to earn that spot,” he said.
The artist stated that regardless of everything, he believes Sarkodie to be the most performer in Africa.
Fameye Admits Repetition of Sneakers Despite Success
Ghanaian musician, Fameye openly shared that, despite his fame and success, he often repeats his sneakers.
Fameye explained his choice to re-wear footwear, making it clear that his habit comes from a place of preference, not financial limitations.
The musician stated that he found no issue wearing the same sneakers on multiple occasions.
He mentioned that he sometimes wears a single pair for up to two weeks straight.
However, he explained that after this period, he avoids that same pair for a lengthy time before repeating them.
Fameye explained that he repeats sneakers because he genuinely loves them and feels comfortable in them, not because he lacks options.
He said he loves boots and owns several pairs of heavy footwear. Many Ghanaians have praised the musician’s honesty and ability to remain himself despite success.
