Ghanaian musician, Fameye has disclosed that the sad songs he sings reflect his life while growing up.
The musician, who is an orphan, indicated that he lost both parents at a very tender age and was taken care of by his grandmother.
However, he was brought to Accra at age eight to live with his auntie.
At age eight, he was tasked with several responsibilities, that he felt were not for people his age, however, he performed his duties without complaining.
He indicated that the pain he suffered at the time is mostly what he reflects on in his music.
“People say I sing sad songs but the reality is that I reflect on my life growing up and the things I had to ensure and that is what I sing about. Ama Boahemaa’s songs were songs that I sing to encourage me.”

He further paid tribute to King Ayisoba for his song “The Whole World” was one of the songs that inspired him.
Fameye is known for his emotional and introspective lyrics, which often deal with issues concerning love, poverty, and self-reflection. He has won several awards, including the Best New Artiste Award at the 2020 Ghana Music Awards USA.
The ‘Nothing I Get’ hitmaker also indicated that anytime he talks about marijuana usage in his songs, he is speaking for the voiceless.
According to him, he does not smoke, and therefore any song he talks about marijuana is just an advocacy for the voiceless.
“It is my craft, I don’t smoke. However, if I smoke, it should not be anyone’s concern. We talk for the voiceless all the time.
“When people say I do drugs, I get worried, so it is something I’m so concerned about. My fans should fight whoever says I do drugs because I don’t.”

Reacting to a video of his performance, which was tagged as him being high, he indicated that he has an alter ego which is Peter and when he acts his alter ego he feels very special.
To him, anyone who tags him as a smoker is deceiving the people and must be dealt with.
Fameye on Relationship
The musician gave a strong indication that he is still in the life of his baby mama.
According to him, he is still in the life of whoever he started with.
However, he has decided not to talk about his relationship in the public space for his sanity.
The musician is in the life of his children and believes that they will take after him.
He denied ever getting married, indicating that the photo that went viral painted a different picture.
“I am not married. I went to the registry with a friend who went to make some inquiries. I know several beautiful girls, and she is one of them.”

Moreover, Fameye indicated that although he bears no grudges with his former manager, Ogidi Brown, they are no longer friends.
According to him, after they had settled their differences at Antoa and he had settled his former investor and manager, they’ve not had a relationship.
He acknowledges that the former manager had a great influence on his life as an artist and that he is grateful for it.
“He took me to Antoa but at the time I was not available, so I sent my representative, who went there. We settled more than he demanded and so we have trashed things out.
“There are no outstanding issues. I acknowledge his contribution to who I am; however, we grew apart after I settled my issues with him at Antoa.”
