The public should get ready for more rendition of English gospel songs from Evangelist Cecilia Marfo, as she has disclosed that she loves English songs and will not stop singing them despite her mispronunciation of words.

Cecilia Marfo has been trending for some days now after a video of her singing an English song that went viral on social media. Cecilia Marfo was heard singing a popular song ‘What shall I say unto the Lord’ in ‘her own words’ which got a lot of people ‘roaring’ with laughter.

In a recent interview, she was quizzed as to which gospel artist and what type of songs she loves singing and listening to. Cecilia Marfo, responding to the question, revealed that she loves English gospel songs. According to her, even though she doesn’t know how to properly sing the lyrics of the song, it won’t deter her from singing it.

Cecilia, explaining why she will keep singing in English, disclosed that she receives most of her messages and songs from God in English. According to her, after she sings the songs, she asks her aides who understand English to translate the songs for her. She averred that God helps people understand her ‘English’ songs even though she sings them wrongly.

Cecilia Marfo is currently topping trends on social media because of an 18 seconds video which she struggled to pronounce her lines correctly in an attempt to render her heartfelt gratitude to God in a worship session.

Cecilia Marfo also revealed some songs she likes aside from Gospel songs. She named Kwabena Kwabena’s ‘Bue Kwan bi ma me’ as an inspirational song she likes. She also noted that she loves songs from Kojo Antwi and Amakye Dede. According to the ‘Afunu ba’ crooner, their songs are “songs that come with wisdom”.

In the same vein, Evangelist Cecilia Marfo finally broke her silence on her alleged dismissal from the Pentecost church.

Cecilia insisted that she was not suspended from the church of Pentecost. According to Cecilia Marfo, she paid her tithe to the church from 2008 to 2018.

“I wasn’t suspended like it was widely spread. I used to go and pay my tithe and Apostle Professor Kwadwo Ninfour Opoku Onyinah insisted that he had not suspended me. So, I was not suspended”.

It can be recalled that in 2014, there were several reports claiming that the church of Pentecost had suspended the singer from the church. According to reports, she was dismissed from the church because she set up a prayer camp which was in contravention with the Church’s policy.

The then Ashaiman Area Head of the church of Pentecost, Apostle Nene Amegatcher in an interview disclosed that the gospel artist had to be suspended from the church because she breached the policy of the church and also lied to the church that she was not opening a prayer camp.

Kofi Clement, husband of Cecilia Marfo later on confirmed that Cecilia established a prayer camp. According to him, they didn’t know there were directives against it until the Apostle read the church’s constitution to them. He then disclosed that they were told to dissolve the prayer camp. However, according to Kofi Clement, they didn’t because God revealed to them not to do so.

Mr. Clement also noted that Apostle Nene Amegatcher had not given them any official letter informing them that Cecilia Marfo was suspended.
