Charles Nii Armah alias Shatta Wale has asked the Ghana Creative Arts industry to hastily take a cue from the actions of Nigerians

Ghanian dancehall artsist Shatta Wale asks industry players to learn from Nigerians.

Acclaimed Dancehall King, Charles Nii Armah alias Shatta Wale has asked the Ghana Creative Arts industry to hastily take a cue from the actions of Nigerians.

This was followed after some Nigerians and Nigerian artists took to their social media to protest for the release of Nigerian singer, songwriter, and recording producer Omah Lay and Tems.

Shatta Wale took to his Twitter and made it known that should he have been in the same situation as Omah Lay and Tems, some people in the music industry would rather do everything possible to make sure he is being jailed for a long time instead of helping him out.

He further added that what Nigerians are doing for Omah Lay and Tems is an act of love and that Ghanaian music industry players should learn from it.

“Ghana creative arts should start learning form Nigerians  … This is what we call Love”.

Some of his fans who could not agree less with him also joined in the conversation in the comments section.

“Shattered!! No, be lie boss… Nigerians fit drag each other ohh but once one foreign body wan chook mouth we go gather finish them. We are like siblings for here bro we no Dey gree for each other but external disrespect is never tolerated. One love keeps us together.

“That’s why the Ghanaian music industry is not as strong as the Nigerian Music industry. But I believe it will…It will only take time.@shattawalegh maybe you should just migrate nah. Abi Wetin u think?”.

The hitmaker of ‘Lo Lo’ Omah Lay and recording artist Tems was charged to court in Uganda on December 13, after they were arrested for performing at an unauthorized concert and disobeying COVID-19 protocols at the Ddungu Resort in Munyonyo, Kampala City.

Omah Lay took to Twitter to emotionally narrate his ordeal and emphasized that he is not been given the right to a fair hearing.

The singer also revealed that the police have stopped the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from securing his release.

However, his series of tweets on Monday, December 14 was with a different tune from his tweet the previous day when he confirmed his arrest in Uganda and assured fans that ‘everything would be fine’.

“Yes, I’m with the Ugandan police… something about the show from last night. Everything would be fine,” he said.

Meanwhile, Public Relations Officer of the Ugandan Police Force, SP Patrick Onyango confirmed that the singer were among three persons arrested and detained at Katwe Police Station in connection to the concert.

The Police said the organizers got the show approved by stating that it was going to be a lunch and dinner event and not a concert.

However, both artists and the organizers of the concert are set to be released on Wednesday, December 16, as per the tweets by the Ugandan police.
