Ghanaian hitmaker and songwriter born Raphael Camidoh Kofi Attachie and known by the stage name Camidoh has urged all musicians to seek collaborations with artistes beyond the borders of Africa.
The R&B, Afropop, and Afrobeats singer in an interview indicated that to get a good number of streams, one must look beyond the borders of Africa.
“It does not make sense to say that I am a Ghanaian so I am making collaborations with Ghanaians only”.

The young artiste made it known to listeners that he had recorded remixes of songs that he liked or believed were good music and then made a request to the owner of the song to do a verse.
“I know that this music has potential so I would love to do a verse.
“I wanted to do a remix with Mayorkun, and there is no way I will reject a verse from King Promise and then Darkoo sends me a verse. For me, plenty of meat does not spoil the soup”.

He mentioned how he bagged a verse each on his song ‘Sugarcane’ which sequels with a remix that was released also this year and had features from Nigerian artistes, Mayorkun, Ghana’s King Promise, and UK rapper Darkoo.

Musician Camidoh says his banging tune ‘Sugarcane’ is undoubtedly his biggest hit song, but not his best.
In an interview, the singer explained that he invests a lot of time and craft in creating all his songs, and as such, can’t tip one as his best over the others.
The ‘For My Lover’ crooner said:
“Clearly, Sugarcane is my biggest hit yet. If you check the numbers, and the consumption rate, yeah, it is my biggest hit but not my best song.
“All my songs are 100%. I carefully create my music taking into consideration the production, and lyrics, everything is 100% so I’ll never say that this song is better than the other”.

The singer said that Sugarcane became the success it is today because he and his team put together some strategic plans to ensure it got to a wider audience.
Among other things, Camidoh said they also paid influencers to create content with the song on various social media platforms.
“It was deliberate of me and the team to engage influencers to create content with Sugarcane to market it. It’s work, so if you need work done, you’ve got to pay”.

Following the success of the song, Camidoh landed a collaboration with colleague King Promise and Nigeria’s Mayorkun which spun a remix.
Unlike some remixes of popular songs that have failed to impress music lovers, the ‘Sugarcane’ Remix was a commercial success like its predecessor.
