Michy Says Old Men From MUSIGA Should Be Sacked

Popular socialite, Michy

Popular socialite, actress, TV Host, and musician Michy has expressed her grievances on the current state of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA).

The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), was incorporated in December 1975 to promote and preserve Ghana’s culture through education and equipping the Ghanaian Musicians to be self-reliant, creative, and industrious.

However, the union has been enveloped with multiple court cases and grievances from members since the tenure of the former president of the Union, Bice Osei Kuffour ended in 2019.

The union has since not been able to elect a substantive president after Bessa Simons was made to act as president.

Michy shared that the only way to revive MUSIGA is that the day-to-day administration of the union should not be left to old men and old women but rather be given to young men and young women who have enough energy to run the union.

She said:

“The old folks are old and they do not know the demands of modern-day music which is dominated by young folks so they aren’t fit to lead the current generation”.

Michy further added:

“Because the old folks would want to do things that were done during their time and might not necessarily do current kinds of stuff which makes them unfit to lead the Union”.

Ghanaian actress and TV presenter, Michy revealed that she is one of the highest-paid Instagram influencers in Ghana.

Michy, known for her engaging content and captivating personality, revealed that her place as one of the highest-paid influencers was inspired by her desire for marketing and she is happy to be living the dream and cashing out big on what she loves to do.

The entrepreneur and social media sensation opened up about her journey to becoming a sought-after influencer, shedding light on her rise to prominence in show business.

She stated:

“I attended Wisconsin University and did marketing. I am using that. I am an influencer. I don’t want to brag but I am one of the highest-paid influencers on Instagram. I am not the bragging type and you will never know. But influencing is where I am applying the marketing”.

Michy

It can be recalled that Michy disclosed that she earns 250,000 cedis as a brand influencer at the end of every year.

She revealed:

“It does. I keep saying, when you see someone making a good living off social media, it’s true. You must choose what you want to do.

“If you come to my page, apart from the music that we are promoting, there is nothing on there apart from adverts. My page is for business. I don’t even wish for birthdays. I’ll do it on my Snapchat because this is my office so I want to keep it organized”.

Michy

She also revealed her plans to become a politician. She explained that she believes politics is the best job in Ghana right now.

Michy explained:

“I have future goals, that’s why I’m going to school now. I don’t see myself doing music in my 40s or 50s. Hopefully, I can go into politics.

“It gives you a certain status in society that opens doors, which might not be open otherwise. So, it’s for the status and the chance to help others”.

Michy

Michy, who used to date dancehall artist Shatta Wale, also expressed her interest in becoming a parliamentarian when she enters politics.

She also shared that she gives back to society by providing food for about eighty children in her neighborhood every week.
