Ghanaian award-winning singer, Wendy Addo, better known as Wendy Shay, in the showbiz circle has said that her lawyers are dealing with YouTube, for deleting her new single dubbed, “Pray for the World”.
Wendy Shay, released the song on 31st December 2020, to mark the end of the year and highlight some of the lows the year brought to the lives of many, but just when the song was getting some buzz online, Youtube has deleted it from their platform.
Per reports gathered, YouTube deleted the song because, Wendy Shay somehow sampled the popular ‘Jerusalema’ beat for her new single and as such, it got reported.
Earlier on Twitter, the producer of the song, MOG Beats, went hard on Ghanaians who allegedly out of hate for Wendy, reported her to get the song deleted. He wrote in a tweet:
“Why am hearing that a group of people went to report Wendy Shay’s ‘Pray For The World’ video and now YouTube has taken it down for what?!! I am angry!!. Oh, Ghana so this is how bad you guys hate @wendyshaygh? I am disappointed I cannot lie to you!”
In reaction to this, Wendy Shay also took to Instagram to claim that she was taking Youtube on legally because they have treated her wrongly. Her comment read:
“@mogbeatz this is the Country we are living in …I will fight for my right, because, ‘Pray for the World’ has a different chord progression from Jerusalema. SHAYGANG don’t worry my lawyers are dealing with YouTube #prayfortheworld”.
In another tweet sighted by TVM, the Rufftown Records signee, who has constantly been bashed for several reasons since she hit the music spotlight in 2018, outlined some of the major setbacks she has faced in the Ghana music industry.
“2018 WS won’t last even a month in the game, 2019 WS is very ugly and not talented, 2020 WS will die, 2021 WS is on drugs and depressed, they can’t stand the heat so ‘dem dey report my song give YouTube’, but thank God I’m still the Queen of Ghana Music. Ghana Stand up!!”
Speaking of drug addiction, Wendy Shay recently replied to critics who have been reading her recent lifestyle and ascribing it to depression and the use of drugs, but according to her, her current transformation is for a purpose.
Wendy Shay is currently seen with many piercings and teeth brace, and some people are worried about her new looks.
Wendy Shay, in a live Facebook, addressed the issue emphasizing that she is not on drugs neither is she depressed but rather she is in a state of being the highest version of herself and that she is very happy with her achievements so far.
“Depression, it is not in my dictionary and no, I am not on drugs . . . I am not depressed. I am in the best place. I’m in the time that I have inner peace. This is the time I have so much confidence in myself and nobody can take it away from me. This is the time that [you know] I’m being the highest version of myself and so I love the state that I am in” she explained.
She also asked her fans and Ghanaians not to judge her.
“Don’t judge a book by its cover because when I begin to preach God’s Word, some people are going to go back. Don’t judge things by the way I look; I do things for a reason” she stressed.
