Ghanaian media star and TV executive, Nana Aba Anamoah has dispelled the notion she mostly speaks English and does not entertain speakers of vernacular.
According to her, speaking plenty of English does not even bring in much money. “I don’t even like speaking English that much,” Nana Aba revealed.
She said in her private life and her interactions with the public, it is typical of her to speak a variety of local languages like “Twi, Fante, Ga, or Ewe – my mom is Ewe”.
The GHOne TV manager bemoaned instances where her admirers shied away from speaking to her in public thinking they would be forced to speak English, only to text her in her Instagram (IG) direct message (DM). “I love local languages, I’m even looking for someone to teach me Hausa,” Nana Aba said.
Nana Aba disabused her audience of the notion she was fond of using big and unfamiliar English words which tend to scare people off from interacting with her.
According to her, she was just passionate about “pronunciation and enunciation.”
“Also, because I’ve been doing this over time, and I’ve trained myself and that is what I try to train people to be. There’s a way to use language so you don’t sound elementary.”

She said it would be unusual for a university graduate’s use of English to be the same as a Class 3 pupil’s. “There’s a reason you’re investing in your education [afterall],” she noted.
Nana Aba Anamoah emphasized though being particular about her use of English may make her come off as posh, she is not a snob but warm and welcoming to everyone.
She lightheartedly noted she was well aware many others may be well-versed in the European language more than her.
Moreover, Nana Aba Anamoah revealed what keeps her going in life.
“I feel there are too many people that look up to me and if I decide to give up, I would have disappointed them and I do not like to disappoint people deliberately. When I make promises, I want to be able to live up to those promises.”

She said she desires earnestly “to have an impact on anyone that comes close to me,” emphasizing: “That is what inspires me.”
Looking back on 2024, the popular broadcaster said the year was “exceptional, great, wonderful”.
Here, she made the surprising disclosure she does not set targets or resolutions for herself as is typical of many, especially at the start of a new year.
“I don’t set targets for myself. Every day is a beautiful day for me and I just face the day as it happens. That’s how I deal with my life. I know what I want to achieve in my life. I don’t do yearly targets because then I end up disappointing myself for not meeting them.
“But I just want to be a good person, I want to be able to give back to people, I want to be able to be better than I was the previous year or day, and so I don’t really set targets for myself.”
Nana Aba Anamoah
Nana Aba noted that she doesn’t have a problem with anyone setting yearly targets for themselves.
She said the ultimate for her at the close of a year and the start of another was to “look back on the year and say to myself, ‘I did good’.”
“I’m proud of every single thing that has happened to me: the good, the bad, the ugly, the wonderful, the excellent,” the media executive remarked taking stock of her life in general.
Nana Aba ‘Too Busy’ For Rumors Spread About Her
The ace broadcaster and media executive passionately stated she does not have the time of day for entertaining negative assumptions about her.
She advised her admirers who defend her honor in public disputes about her private and professional life to cease fire knowing she is not perturbed in the slightest about the unfounded opinions spread about her. “I ignore. I do not have time for them. I’m too busy, focused,” she said.
“Rumours are started by people who are bored, and angry in life; people who have absolutely nothing to do so they have cultivated the habit of fabricating stories. I do not make an effort to respond to any rumor. Most importantly I do not hear these rumours, for very good reasons.
“The people around me know very well that I do not give a toss, I do not care. The only time I hear about these rumors is from strangers while I’m in town who tell me they fought for me during a heated argument. The first thing I tell them is, ‘I don’t care so don’t care as well’.”
Nana Aba Anamoah
Thus, she advocated this was “how everyone must live their life – prioritize your sanity.”
“People fabricate stories all the time but it should not be the focus of your life. The people who go out of their way to fight for me, ‘Stop because I don’t care. So you shouldn’t care either’. We should just think positively all the time – be positive.”

Moreover, the broadcaster revealed she is quite spiritual about her acts of kindness and they are not as random as they often appear to be.
Many times, Nana Aba has been in the trends on social media for helping someone on the street with a gig or employment. Even more, she has given many opportunities to make a mark in various fields, especially in media.
She explained the motivation behind her kindness.
“Sometimes it’s just direction from a little voice inside me. And I believe that voice is God. And I’m not bragging but I think that God listens to me a lot, and every time I ask for direction, I get direction. Sometimes, the people I’ve encountered will appear in my dream and that’s a signal for me that this person is worth it.”

She bemoaned times she had ignored her intuition by way of having a “certain mixed feeling” and experiencing unpleasant consequences.
Nana Aba Shares Reason She Avoids Biographic Interviews
“The questions become monotonous,” ace broadcaster Nana Aba Anamoah said, explaining why she does not often grant interviews.
Avoiding “screaming headlines,” she added, was another reason.
“I like to share stories, my story. But sometimes I want to just shush and be in my corner. Because what I’ve realized is that even when I’m joking, people don’t take it with a pinch of salt. They take everything I say seriously. That’s what I’ve noticed.”
Nana Aba Anamoah
“Every single thing that I say becomes a headline,” Nana Aba said, bemoaning being misrepresented.
“And so I try to not be the news. What I try to do is rather make news, find newsmakers, and interview them. As a media personality, I don’t want to be the news.”
Nana Aba Anamoah
She said she was open to granting interviews on issues and topics of interest to her host and the public.
“But interviews about myself… It’s just too boring for me. It’s just too much for me.”
