Okyeame Kwame Reveals He’ll Still Love His Wife Should She Cheat

Okyeame Kwame and his wife, Annica

Ghanaian musician Okyeame Kwame has expressed a rather unconventional perspective on infidelity in relationships.

According to the artist, he would appreciate it if his wife were honest about cheating because it would signify transparency in their relationship.

Okyeame Kwame stated that he would love his wife even more if she admitted to infidelity, emphasizing the value of honesty in a partnership.

“I’ll love my wife more if she tells me she cheated on me because it means I’m in a relationship with an honest human being,” he said.

The activist earlier revealed that infidelity from his partner doesn’t affect him directly.

According to him, when one partner cheats on the other in a relationship, it primarily affects the person who cheated.

He explained that the person going on a cheating spree is rather disgracing himself or herself.

“ I don’t refer to Annica as my wife. She is ‘the wife of Okyeame Kwame’ and we both understand that. Once you get too attached to someone, their actions will greatly affect you. When it breaks your heart, you’ll see yourself crying, refusing to eat, and becoming less productive at work. This is not how it should be. If my wife cheats on me, she is rather disgracing herself and not me, so why should I let it affect how I go about my day?” Okyeame Kwame narrated.

This perspective challenges the conventional views on cheating, suggesting that openness and transparency can strengthen a relationship, even in the face of challenges.

Revealing The Rate At Which Ghana’s Music Industry Is Dying

Kwame Nsiah-Apau also known by the stage name Okyeame Kwame revealed that Ghana’s music industry is dying faster due to the bad economy artists have to battle with.

This comes on the back of older artists in developed countries doing so well such as the best new artists at the Grammys are over 39 years old.

Okyeame Kwame stated that the reason older artists are doing so well outside and not in Ghana is because of the economic situation.

“You can’t indulge in art unless you grow and feed yourself. Because I have never seen a hungry boy looking at the sunset and saying that it is a beautiful sunset. When you have a broken leg you don’t think of anything other than to heal that pain.  So for us Africans we have sort of relegated our economy and given it to the white man to do what they want with it,” OkyeameKwame stated.

“We can’t enjoy the sunset, we can’t taste food, that’s why our fashion is not going anywhere. Hip life couldn’t survive because of the economy,” he further added.

However, Okyeame Kwame noted that successive governments have helped but “it is woefully inadequate.”

Okyeame also advised that something must be done to turn things around in the Ghanaian music industry.

The award-winning artist revealed that he went through a phase of depression in 2016 over fear of turning 40 years old.

The Rap Doctor as he’s nicknamed noted that he feared his ideas would be old and his relevance in the music industry would be no more.

”I was 39 and turning 40 years old. I had written an article on my fear of the big four zero and almost everything that I feared…that I will lose my audience share, and then I’m going to be old, my ideas will be old, what are young people listening to, and observing that the average age of the Ghanaian is between 21 to 27 years. I’m thinking I’m going to lose it. I remember that when I was much younger I used to ask my Mom how old are you and she’ll say 40 years and I would respond you’re too old.

“It is not just the fear of approaching 40, but the manifestation of what I was afraid of. Going to organize an event, but people are not coming. At that time, you know that the work we are doing is based on a social validation system, how many Instagram likes you get, how many people shared, and business investors are interested in those figures and saying that your worth is based on that external validation. Stupid as I was, I made it get it to me.”

The ‘Yeeko’ hitmaker further disclosed that losing $80,000 which he invested in his music business also contributed to his depression.

“I had invested a lot of money in my career that didn’t work. I put up billboards, I did rebranding and it didn’t work. I lost about $80,000. So that one, plus the shows not coming, plus my fear of the 40 years…the cock came home to roost. All the little things…so I felt inadequate, I am nothing, I am a nobody,” he revealed.

Okyeame Kwame revealed that it took him a whole year to recover.
