The leader and founder of Ebenezer Miracle Worship Centre, Prophet Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom, popularly known as Opambour, has lamented on the inconsistent power supply in the country.
According to him, the inconsistent power supply, popularly referred to as “Dumsor” in the local dialect, has brought discomfort to most Ghanaians.
The pastor stated that he does not blame the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) entirely because it could be that the government does not resource the institution to fix the problem.
Opambour fumed about the recent power blackout, adding that even if there would be random power cuts, the public should be given prior notice.
“In Ghana currently, hot temperatures, mosquito bites, and inconsistent power supply are killing us. The light could go off at midnight, and the temperature in the room would rise. When you decide to sleep outside, then mosquitoes will be biting you,” he said.
“If ‘Dumsor’ is back, they should let us know so we act accordingly. I don’t blame ECG much in this case because maybe they have faulty equipment and are not getting a replacement,” Opambour further mentioned.
Opambour called on the government to put in place measures to avert the recent erratic power supply that seems to be frequent.
Recently, some individuals complained about the unstable nature of the electricity supply in the country.
Some areas keep experiencing regular power cuts and this aroused controversies over whether or not “Dumsor”, that is to say persistent, irregular, and unpredictable electric power blackout, which became a serious matter of concern to Ghanaians during the Mahama regime is recurring under the current administration.
The ECG informed the public that it is undertaking system maintenance which is a locally generated fault and dismissed claims of “Dumsor” being back.
Opambour Warns People Who Intend Attacking Him
Opambour warned people who intend to attack him over his comments on political issues.
He noted that since he prophesied that the former flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party, John Dramani Mahama, would win the upcoming 2024 general elections, some individuals have plotted to attack him.
He explained that during the 2016 general elections, he helped President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Adoo to secure victory, hence, it baffles him why he is being attacked and insulted for doing something similar with the 2024 Presidential candidate for NDC.
“In 2016, when NDC was in power, I prophesied about NPP winning the election; nobody plotted to kill me or insulted me for my comments. I was the one who gave Akuffo-Addo the direction on how he could win the hearts of Ghanaians, and it worked,” he revealed.
“Mahama wanted me to speak for him, but I refused. The God who spoke to me at that time is the same now,” he said.
Opambour warned his critics to abstain from any intention to attack him because he is an anointed man of God, stating emphatically that he is speaking with the direction of God and not his opinion.
On multiple occasions, Opambour prophesied that, regardless of the circumstances, Mahama would emerge victorious in the upcoming presidential elections.
“Mahama has been divinely ordained to rescue the country from the economic hardships experienced under the current presidency of Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo. God has ordained this man [Mahama] to salvage Ghanaians from the hardship bedeviling us,” he stated.
“I am certain of what I am saying because God has revealed to me that he will be President of Ghana, and no power on earth can overturn it. So we should support our incoming President Mahama wholeheartedly,” Opambour said when Mahama paid a visit to his church during a campaign tour in the Ashanti Region.
In light of this assertion, some persons known to be affiliated with the New Patriotic Party (NPP), including Maurice Ampaw challenged Opambour’s claims.
